The Kid

He was a child.

Constantly hitting his head on a wall named "SOLITUDE".

Feeling left behind in an apocalyptic world that only he could survive,

Yet he died time and time again.

Fighting what he called the "GOOD" fight,

Only to realize the only good was that he won every time.

But against who, himself?

Mental mirrors surround him to the point where all eyes were on him,

But there was no crowd.

He had seen himself for who he really was,

and trembled at the image.

Why did he feel so apprehensive?

Chills filled his chest, trembles quaked the tips of his fingers.

The bass drop of the song labeled "GRIEF" had a rhythmic repetition where his heart once was.

What's with this kid? What could possibly be on his mind?

Is it the thought of being taken to a place for 4 years he once hated,

but soon came to "LOVE"?

Was it the feeling of being back home again.

The place he dreamt of being,

both awake and asleep at the same time.

But now wants to "WAKE UP"

Only to return to what he once called his hell, his grave, his abyss, his torment, his wretchedness, his pit of infinite misery.

"Quick! Someone, go get help! He's stuck. He's buried in too deep."

The kid had trapped himself into a tunnel labeled "ME"

going days, weeks, and months,

not seeing a strand of sunshine,

producing and consuming the same gust of air.

He reached his limit, and the tunnel collapsed

As the kid lied on his back,

with barely enough but still the strength to fight,

he glared at the sky of tumbling rocks,

and he whispered "HELP".

the kid was crushed by a boulder

engraved with "SALVATION".

Atop the debris and cloud of smoke,

another was spotted.

It was him.

With both knees kneeled, hands thrown wide open, and his head hooked to the sky,

he looked to the heavens,

took a deep breath,

and rested on top of a platform branded "RE-BIRTH".
