The Day Before: Bailey's Convincing

*In JetPad...*

"So you're telling me that the kids planned to make a surprise party for Xuli's birthday and to help cheer her up?"

"Yeah. She deserves to be cheered up after what she's been through. Because every time she fails, she thinks she let uncle Greg and aunt Laura down...like she failed them. It must've been really hard for her. She nearly lost the Vroomster and absolutely failed it. She deserves to be cheered up."

Ubercorn and Bailey were standing together in the Control Room, with Lily hiding under Xuli's desk; it was closest to the scene.

"Do you think it's a good idea? She's totally earnt it! Hopefully this idea will cheer her up. Do you have anything against it? If so, let me know."

"I think it's a good idea and all, but B, how are we gonna organize a party in time for tomorrow evening? Especially a Xuli-themed party? Only God knows what she likes!"

The small girl hiding under the desk got a little bit nervous, but then she remembered that if anyone knew what Xuli liked in her birthday, it's definitely her big sister, Captain Bailey Grace Morgan.

"Don't worry, Ubercorn. If any humans know how to throw Xuli a great big birthday party, it's me."

Lily, hiding under the table, wanted to step out and say: "Yeah! Relax, Ubercorn. Bailey has this whole thing under control." Only she knew that if she did, she'd be in trouble, because even Bailey didn't know she was awake.

"If you know what Xuli likes in her birthday party, B, then go ahead and tell me everything she likes. Go ahead, B, lay 'em on me. And if there's a lot of stuff, how in the name of disco are we gonna complete this whole thing by tomorrow evening?"

"Leave it to me, Ubercorn, you know how I set up the whole party on Xuli's eleventh birthday."

"On her eleventh birthday, B, she's turning sixteen this year...do you know how to set up for a sixteen-year-old's birthday party?"

"Well, ya. I'm twenty-eight years old, and I remember how you set up my sixteenth birthday. plus, I'd known Xuli since she was very little."

"Well, good luck with that."

"You're gonna help me out remember?"

"Yeah, yeah. But I'm not setting up the cake. You know I'm not good at baking."

"Shame, I was planning for you to bake it...how did you make Foz's pyramid cake?"

"I had a few days to do it, but the party's tomorrow! How am I gonna complete this cake by tomorrow evening?"

"If you don't go and forget about it for six hours?"

Lily nearly laughed. It was getting really silly! But don't do it, Camellia, she thought, if they see or hear you, you're in very big trouble.

"Here's the list of things required and whoever's gonna do them,"

She handed him a list, and in Lily's opinion was quite a mouthful if you read it.

"Make sure to have everything prepared to make by five tomorrow morning. Goodnight, Ubercorn."

She walked out of the room and out of JetPad.

Ubercorn looked at the list. Looked at it for five seconds, then put it down.

"I'm going to bed," He yawned, walking over to his room.
