"Well, I mean, I have a reservation at that fancy steakhouse on 42nd Street, but if you want to do something else, I can totally cancel..." Why on earth was Simon so nervous about telling her his date plans? It was just Izzy. 

"That sounds absolutely perfect," she replied matter of factly, "Tell me a time and a date, and I will be there." A small smile appeared on her pale face. 

"Tomorrow at eight?" The same smile appeared on Simon's face. Isabelle's smile widened as she said; "Sounds like a plan, I will see you then." She rose up on her tiptoes, bracing her hand on his muscled shoulder, letting her lips brush across his cheek, so softly it was barely there. 

She then turned on her heel, and strutted her way back down the corridor, itching to look over her shoulder at his face, but she made herself keep walking until she reached the corner, then she could look. She would not skip until he could no longer see her. He would not get the satisfaction of seeing her giddy -  Isabelle Lightwood did not do giddy.  She turned her head when she reached the corner, to see Simon stood just where she left them, with his fingers resting on his cheek, right where she kissed.

With a small shake of her head and a giggle, she disappeared around the corner, her hint of a smile spreading until she was grinning like an idiot. Since he could no longer see her, she skipped the rest of the way back to her room, where she collapsed onto her bed with a contented sigh
