A 'Thing' (Avengers POV)

They just had to do what Venom said. It sucked that the man that had been staying with them for less than 24 hours was already in trouble. But they guessed it came with the territory.

Bruce sat, watching Venom move in Eddie's body, healing him. Venom was muttering to himself, and to Eddie, he assumed.

"Venom?" he asked quietly, causing the alien's head to snap to look at him. "Is he going to be okay?"

"Yes," Venom replied, his voice rough. "He's just sensitive."

"You know a lot about him," Bucky commented, looking up from his book.

"We know everything about him," the symbiote answered bluntly. "It's good."

"You make it sound like you two are a 'thing'," Clint chuckled from the kitchen, where he was attempting to bake something Bruce didn't recognize.

"We are."

The comment made them all stop in their tracks.

"You know what he means by that, right?" Bucky asked incredulously.

"Of course," Venom grinned, clearly proud of themselves. "It means 'a romantic or sexual relationship between two individuals'. We know your human slang. We have been here for nearly a year now."

"I don't get it," Clint said, confused.

Venom's grin widened, like they were enjoying the team's reactions.

"We are in both a romantic, and a sexual relationship," they told the men. "It would be an open one, were we human. But we still love Eddie, and Eddie loves us."

Bruce nearly choked on his shock.

"Is Eddie gay?" Bruce asked, still very confused.

"He called it 'Pansexual'," Venom answered simply. "And we just don't care about gender. Klyntarians reproduce asexually, so love is a new thing to us."

Bruce didn't know what to think. An alien and a human, together. But he guessed he would just have to drop it. Let it be. For it wasn't the weirdest thing he had ever seen.

God, Tony was going to have a field day.
