Vista North High School is nothing like St. Boston's Academy. Starting with the fact that there's no giant gate to close once school starts. St. Boston's looked like a prison. Vista north looked like chaos. There were kids all over the parking lot and around the front of the school gathered in groups laughing. A group of boys on skateboards whipped past us as Mom pulled into a parking spot. Her and Shannon hoped out of the front seat and Alexis and I followed as my dad, Jasson, Braxton, and Eric pulled up next to us. Eric got drunk with Brax last night so Shannons pissed at them. Less for him drinking with his son and more for doing so the night before we started a new school. Our parents are lenient but they have very strict rules on school, drinking and drugs. As we got older they pounded three rules into our heads.
1)School is important. No grades below a C.
2)If your going to drink do it at home or tell us so we know to be waiting for you call. Do not drive no matter how little you have.
3) If you do drugs, you die.
There's no exceptions on that last rule. Honestly we've seen so many strung out crazies in our life it's not an issue.
Braxton came around the car shoving his still slightly drunk dad at Shannon. She glares and shoves him towards Mason and Jason. "Keep his ass under control or I swear to god he will leave this school in a body bag. "
Brax and I snicker letting our parents lead the pack. The kids around the doors scattered as Mason stalked forward. He's not really angry right now he just always looks angry.
"New school and your still the prettiest girl I've ever seen," Brax whispered in my ear kissing my cheek. I beam at him and jump onto his back as we enter the school. A huge guy shoves past us and out the door. I didn't get to see his face but he had shoulder length red hair and gorgeous arms.
"New school and I already found my next boyfriend," I whisper in Braxtons ear. He snorts and lets go of my legs. My ass hits the floor and I ignore the pain kicking my leg out and tripping him. "I hate you."
His eyes light up and he jumps up pulling me to my feat. "I hate you too baby."
I lean up on my tiptoes and connect our lips my savoring the familiar feeling that always comes over me when I'm in his arms.
"Hey, I don't have time for this bullshit!" Mom yells. Everyone else is standing 10 feet away from us by a door the had a plaque across it reading 'Main Office'. "I've got shit to do today. Save your cute teenage relationship whatever for your own time."
Inside the office my Mom and Shannon start to get the rest of our transfer paper work out of the way. The receptionist looks at the rest of us uneasily. "Can I ask some of you to wait outside? We don't normally have this many people come to drop off new students."
"Mason sign this," Mom snaps than kindly to the receptionist. "My bodyguards go wherever I do."
Eric and Tyler raise their hands slightly and wave. They turn to us.
"Stay away from the food in the cafeteria. It will poison you." Tyler starts.
"Don't beat anyone up unless they deserve it." Jason chimes in.
"Don't skip class," Mason crosses his arms.
"Watch out for Alexis," Eric lifts his head slightly. "Don't let any seniors pray on my baby."
"No knives at school."
"Don't piss off your teachers."
"Try and make friends."
"Don't talk in class."
They go on listing rules until Alexis groans and throws herself into a chair. "We get it. This isn't the first time we've gone to school."
Shannon comes up behind her and smacks her on the back of the head. "We went to this school so the teachers will hear your last name and panic. Public schools a lot different than that fancy private school bullshit Mason insisted we put you in."
"Hey," He throws his hands up defensively. "I didn't want my little girl to deal with the kind of assholes Carol and you had to deal with. I thought private school boys were supposed to be pussies."
"Teanagers are teanagers no matter what," Shannon snaps and hands us all a bunch papers. "We're leaving."
She kissed both her children, Alexis on the forehead and Brax on the cheek because she can't reach his forehead, then grabbed Eric's hand and yanked him out od the office. My dad grinned evilly at me and pounces, crushing me in his hug. When he lets me go Jason and Tyler get their own bone crushing hugs in.
"Have a good day at school," They cooed at me like a child and stepped back letting my mom hug me.
She pulled back looking into my eyes. "Good luck bug," She brushed my hair behind my ear, her face softening into the gentle look she saved for only me. "I love you."
"I love you too, Mamma." I hug her again before my dad pulls her out of the room calling her a softy. A shout sounds from the other side of the door and then they're gone.
The principle looks at us sharply and tells us to wait for a moment. She leaves the room and returns a second later followed by a girl and a boy. The girls tall and muscular like she works out a lot. The boy is also tall only an inch or so shorter than Brax but a with a lot less muscle. "This is Amanda. She'll be your guide today Alexis."
The two leave the room already lost in conversation leaving the rest of us behind. "This is Kyle. He'll be both of your guides today. I apologize the other student who was supposed to be here is late. I'll send him your way when he comes in."
We introduce ourselves and Kyle leads us out of the front office and down a flight of stairs. "The senior lockers are down here but your classes will be all over the place. This hall is the senior hallway and also the Foreign language wing. You'll both have locker partners for now. If another opens up you might be moved or you can request to share with someone else. " He stops in front of a row of 3 lockers in between two classrooms. He turns to Braxton and double checks his schedule and gesture to the locker on the left end. "Um this is mine but I guess we're locker partners now."
"Cool," Braxton smirks at him the way he does to me when he's flirting, with his head slightly tilted down looking up sensually, and his eyes light up when Kyle's cheeks flush. I reach up and tug his ear. He raises an eyebrow.
"Don't make fun of him," I sign.
"I was testing a theory," He signs back.
"Err this might be awkward to point out but we have ASL 4 together second period." He reaches up messing with the headphones hanging from the front of his shirt. "I know what you're saying."
Braxtons grin widens and he steps towards him leaning in resting his arm against the lockers he corners him against. He asks in a husky voice. "Was I right then?"
Poor Kyle looks petrified. "I mean yea. I guess you're right. If your theory is I'm gay. Not if it's that I'm a pelican or something."
I kick Brax in the back of the knee. "Leave him alone."
"Fine, fine," He backs up and spins around. "Jealous?"
"You wish."
He steps forward and whispers. "Hate you."
I hum in response and he drops a quick kiss on my lips. And turns to Kyle. They open their locker and I look at the one next to it and put in my combination. Kyle steps up and takes my paper. "That's odd. This shouldn't be your locker."
"Why?"
"Girls and boys aren't aloud to share lockers. This is my best friend Prestons." He looks around nervously. "He's not very friendly. He's not gonna like having a locker partner. Any way let's get you guys to class."
