Luke's POV

~~~~~~~~~~~
"Yes I am, and I'm fine with those friends, I don't need any fucking charity from the likes of you.", she spat. " You made a mistake talking to me, now people are going to start saying things.", I said.
She looked so hurt, and I didn't even understand why.
" so what?". I asked. " if they talk let the talk, just ignore them." I shrugged off.
Maybe that was a mistake, because as soon as I said that her eyes began watering and it was obvious she was trying to hold it in as long as those grey eyes could.
" You don't know, how much my heart hurts, how much I cry, or what it's like to be me, I can't just ignore them and move on, I'm different in case you haven't noticed.", I said.
By then her tears were already threatening to spill out, but She wouldn't cry, not in front of me at least. I was anticipating whether or not to say something, but she seemed like she just wanted to get as far away as possible from me.
" With that I'm going to leave", She finally said after a few minutes said. The tears started flowing. She put her pink hood over her beautiful long wavy hair, and turned the corner running into the girls' bathroom. I didn't follow her, one part of me didn't want to let her go, but it was what she wanted. My one and only encounter with the most beautiful person I've ever seen...and it's over. It's for the best though right?
Home room
~~~~~~~~~~

After spending about 15 minutes thinking about what upset Genesis, and spending 5 minutes making sure my hair was perfect, I decided to head to home room 5 minutes after the late bell already rung.

I slowly took my time making it over to Ms.Massey's home room, which was on the right at the end of Falls' hall.

I opened the class room door to have all students attention diverted to me... All except Genesis, who continued to text on her phone while managing to uphold a deep conversation with one of her friends apparently. Every other moment when she would reply to her friend, and set her phone down on the table, she'd consciously pull her hoodie sleeves over her hands, as if she were... Hiding something?

Wait, why do I even care? Oh yeah I don't, but something about her, I just couldn't help but be curious.

I was staring intently at her, until I heard the old bag clear her throat, causing the entire class to let out smirks and whispers.

"Save your day dreaming for after school detention", she said in a venomous tone. " You're late again, Mr. Hemmings."

The whole classroom had paused whatever it was they were doing to cast their attention on our 'argument' , even Genesis. Her grey eyes that was usually gleaming with amusement, were still watery, and held nothing but sadness and insanity... Yet she still was by far the most beautiful creature I've ever laid eyes on, I'm sure she's used to hearing it all the time.

"Yeah, state the obvious why don't you, dumbass.", I shot back at withered old lady with a smirk.

" 2 days after school detention!", she screeched. Out of the corner of my eye I could see a majority of the class flinch at the ear piercing sound, considering she's usually quite.

I didn't feel like going back and fourth with the woman, so I simply rolled my eyes.

The classroom was arranged differently, then last year. There were five chairs at every round table, three of the tables in the back of the classroom, and the last two in the front. We always have assigned seats in this classroom, then switch every week to 'interact with new people'

Genesis was seated in the back at one of the three tables. Next to her on her left was her twin sister, I think her name is Adriana? To her right was her friend Nicole, and across from her were two boys and one empty seat. I recognized one of the guys in front of her sister as Ethan Fredick, the schools drug dealer, yet somehow none of the teachers found out.

I was one of them too so I really wasn't one to judge.

I didn't recognize the one sitting in front of Genesis but he said something to her which caused her to let out a small giggle.

It was probably less then 5 seconds but it was still one of the best sounds I've heard in my life.

Whoa?! What am I talking about, my brain snapped me back.

I shook the thought out of my head and starting making my way towards where Genesis was seated since it was the only seat left in the classroom or let's just say that.

The moment I sat down in front of her, she looked up from her phone, and visibly tensed at the sight of me and insecurely pulled her sweatshirt sleeves over her hands and brushed her long hair out of her face and over her shoulder.

She started shaking... She looked scared. Was she nervous? Was she scared of me?

Awkwardly I looked around the classroom trying to find anything to look at and keep me distracted besides looking at Genesis, when that's all I wanted to do.

But, why is she scared of me?
