"I think Didi's future girlfriend will be extremely lucky because he's so good at cooking and has a great personality."
He throws her a glance and smirks when he sees her constantly nodding her head to what Taojie is saying. He knows she probably doesn't even realize that she's agreeing to every compliment thrown his way and that she's most likely thinking of... well, them. However unconsciously.
Especially this morning, when he cooked a hearty breakfast for the two of them, and she walked towards his kitchen barefoot, wearing one of his huge shirts, still half-asleep, mumbling how the delicious smell of cooking jiānbĭng woke her up.
She then sat by the kitchen counter, on one of his tall stools and looked at him a little expectantly with those pretty yet sleepy eyes.
He chuckles as he remembers how when he placed the plate of jiānbĭng in front of her and he puckered his lips asking for a morning greeting, she frowned and grumbled before finally stretching up to give him his morning kiss.
She is just too cute. He thinks as he glances at her again.
She then turns to side-eye him subtly and with a slightly raised brow, asks him silently why he's suddenly laughing. He has to fight the automatic grin he always finds himself in when she looks at him like that.
Instead, he leans down towards her and softly whispers in her ear, "Were you thinking about this morning, Yue? When you were agreeing with what Taojie just said. And... hmm... what followed after that?"
The answering blush on her face is enough for his smug grin to finally come out.
