Pain is what woke me pain from my head pounding and throbbing with so much agony accompanied by the sound of dripping into a body of water as well as the feeling of water on my head which made the pain even more unbearable as I opened my eyes to black nothingness at first glance but as my eyes vaguely adjusted which were also in pain i guess due to lack of use and i didn't have my glasses on which i noticed were on a cabinet next to me. I then realized as I put on my glasses most of the top portion of my head was bandaged. I looked around and it seemed like I was in a hospital room which seemed run down, abandoned and rotting over time which doesn't make sense as in terms of a hospital which is usually up to date and well kept. I assumed I was in some type of hostage cell, then I felt the IV tube in my arm and noticed I was in a hospital gown which also looked rugged and old. "If they were holding me hostage, why put an IV in me let alone bandage my head?" As I was getting out of the bed with stained and aged sheets I felt nausea due to my sudden movements out of bed I collapsed to the wet dirty floor "BLARG!!" I puked for what felt like at least an hour but was actually two minutes and felt the pain of my IV as I pulled it out of my arm "AAAHH" I screamed in pain but nothing could compare to the pain in my head. "I need to get out of here." I thought tomyself to help encourage me to keep going and to find someone who can help me and tell me what happened. I picked myself up off of the floor struggling to stay up right as I walked to what I could make out to be the door only to find what I could feel to be some soil both on the floor and blocking the doorway and underneath was a wall made of brick. "HELP!" "HELP!" I was so scared and started to freak out but then I started to hesitate and started to think this has got to be a dream but then i thought i wouldn't be in this much pain if this was a dream so I ruled that out then i thought about both how I was getting air if i was in this enclosed area and how to get out of here. Then I noticed the vents on the ceiling which were too high up and too small for me to crawl out of. I started to breakdown and think i was going to die in this room but as i sat up against the brick wall i started to hear an echo of dripping water in a room with a nearly eternal atmosphere coming from the other side of the wall so i started to look around from what i could make out to see in the darkness of the room i then noticed the metal closet which i was surprised to find unlocked. I opened the closet and found a sledge hammer and although I was weak and in pain I knew there was no other choice. It's either get out of here or die. I took the sledge hammer with the very little strength that I had and struck the brick wall which left a large dent full of cracks and started to crumble. I continued to slam the hammer into the wall of both dirt and brick. The bricks started to crumble and break apart the more the hammer struck. It then broke a hole where I could just barely see the inside with only a minimum amount of light coming from the ceiling. It looked like some type of sewer system that hasn't been in use for some time but not as old as the hospital room. I picked up the hammer and broke a large enough hole for me to bend down and walk into. I stepped out into the sewer once the smell hit my nose. I became nauseous again and collapsed to the wet floor but swallowed my spit. "No no please don't puke." i said to myself as I then stood back up and headed towards what i could only make out to be a ladder due to barley much in terms of light coming from what looked like a small but big enough drain cover i could possibly climb out of so without hesitation i climbed up the ladder and and opened and climbed out of the drain cover which did pinch a bit but managed climb out into a circular room that had tiled floors in the shape of leafs. The room looked as if it had recently been cleared out by police judging by the barricade tape on the only door I could see. "I know I'm not supposed to do this but what choice do I have?" I proceeded to the door and checked to see if the door was locked. Thankfully it wasn't so I opened the door to enter a hospital-like room with an examination table and modern day monitors that were turned off. The room was also connected to a hallway that strangely had cells that also looked brand new with reinforced glass and armed keypad locks and had toilets some of which for the most part seemed both bigger and smaller than normal sized toilets which seemed odd even for a hospital I then looked at the polished bluish colored concrete floor and saw large claw marks leading into some of the cells. "What were they doing here?" I said to myself, getting an eerie feeling down my spine. "Animal experimentation on humans? An experimentation prison or something?" I thought to myself trying to come up with a plausible explanation to the surroundings of where I was. I continued down the hallway of cells and came across another door. This one, like the cells, had a keypad lock which looked disabled so I checked to see if I could open it and like with the door before it was unlocked. I opened the door to see it was in the middle of another hallway right immediately leading to a dead end so I went left and then made a turn which led me to at least two or three flights of concrete stairs going up. As I started walking up the stairs. "AAAHHH!!" I put my hand on my head as my headache from before that seemed to have started to calm down for a bit came back somehow feeling worse than before. Although the pain was strong I kept going up the stairs knowing I had to find help. I made it to the top of the stairs and opened the door only to be greeted by the sunlight which hurt my eyes and made my headache worse due to me being in the darkness of the pitch black basement. My eyes soon adjusted to the light as I walked into another hallway which upon going straight led me to the lobby which looked outdated but cleared out of any features you would expect out of a hospital lobby and I noticed more barricade tape on the entry doors. I walked towards the exit and upon removing the tape I opened the doors and as I got whift of fresh air in my lungs my head felt as if it was ready to burst as i collapsed to the concrete ground in pain. I heard what I could only think of to be a waterfall and it sounded big. I got back up after the pain subsided and looked around the area the first things i noticed were the highway guardrails indicating that this location was on a cliff and there was a circled highway guardrail in the middle of the roadway and i also noticed some large rocks in a couple of places here and there. The sound was coming from the left so I walked over to confirm my guess to which I was right. It was indeed a waterfall and it was possibly the biggest waterfall I've seen. And it seemed as though the structure of the building was built on a rather large rock like island just near the base of the waterfall and that the rest of the long road was a bridge built over the crest of the waterfall. I then looked at the hospital building which was a greyish tan color and had a style in architecture I wasn't familiar with. I then began to run down the road bridge on the erge of leaving then stopped after my headache came back pounding I then looked back at the building and its surroundings I then looked to the right of the building and saw mountains coming into view out of a light mist which honestly looked beautiful in a way but i then i came back to my senses to leave and get help this time i decided to walk just to help prevent my headache getting worse. As I reached the end of the bridge I looked down and saw the rest of the road which looked to be a zigzag starting with a curved road going and going down. "Hello?" I yelled out with one final attempt to find someone in this area but as expected I got no resopnse so I continued to walk down the side of the road which was cracking and decaying from years of erosion. I reached the end of the zigzag road and nearly walked into a closed metal gate that seemed to be art deco inspired with a sign on the other side and the top of the gate had the word Cliffside completely cut into the metal and on each base of the gate there were statues one of a deer and the other one being a bear both standing on two legs and wearing robes. "Where in the world am I?" I asked as I went and leaped onto the left base of the gate just beside the deer statue and began to climb over the concrete wall to which I then jumped off landing on the ground "AH OW OW OW!" I almost lost my glasses and hurt my legs a bit on the landing but only slightly with the wall not being high enough to break any bones. I then saw two more statues of the same animals at the end of each base. I walked over to the sign which read (WARNING THIS PROPERTY IS CONDEMNED BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE STATE POLICE DEPARTMENT NO TRESPASSING) "Well then i'll be sure to never come back to this place again.'' I jokingly said as I continued to walk down the road which was also on the edge of a steep cliff with a river at the bottom. I was just thankful that there were guardrails at the edge but even then I was still scared mainly of being in an unknown place. I walked for what felt like hours feeling tired, thirsty, and hungry which didn't make my headache any better either way. "When I get home I am definitely taking a much needed nap." I said I was trying to keep my hopes up and to keep me motivated, then I started to think about what I should have asked when I first woke up. "How long was I out for?" All throughout this walk the afternoon had gone by quickly. I looked around for the sun which was behind me. It was just near sunset. "It's gonna be dark pretty soon, great just great." I said continually walking down this seemingly never ending road but I knew that every road goes somewhere so I just quit complaining to myself and just kept walking. It wasn't long though it felt like an hour till i started to see what looked like a city but looked very far but i was too excited and happy to think about how far i was from civilization so I continued walking but i was smiling for the time being and continued to walk on the road towards the city. It soon became dark and I got nervous walking alone with no phone on me luckily there were light poles on the other side of the road. I then started to hear a faint sound of a vehicle driving nearby then alongside the curve I saw headlights of a vehicle coming my way from over a hill As what I could make out to be a lime green truck got closer I couldn't make out who was driving even with the light poles. "HEY WAIT HELP!!" I guess they couldn't hear me and they didn't see me very well because the truck passed by without any acknowledgment of me. After that I thought I was just gonna keep walking till I get tired and pass out on myself but I was so lost in thought that I failed to notice that I had moved away from the highway guardrail and had walked into the middle of the road "All my fault, It should have been me." I thought to myself in my mind as tears began to fill my eyes as guilt filled my chest. I then heard a car horn coming my way as i looked up i could barely see with the tears in my eyes as the person driving continued to honk their horn of their vehicle I wiped away the tears then out of nowhere saw the headlights right in front of me before i knew it i heard the sound of tires screeching while the driver was trying desperately to stop. Before I knew it I tried to jump out of the way but I was too late as I felt myself slam onto the hood and windshield of the car then landed on the concrete road. "AAAHHH!!!" As i layed there in complete agony I heard the car engine stop and heard the car door open along with the sound of it closing and the sound of bare feet walking closer in my direction. It felt as if every bone in my body had been shattered into glass shards. "Nine one one what's your emergency?" "HELLO PLEASE I NEED AN AMBULANCE I'VE ACCIDENTALLY HIT SOMEONE WEARING A HOSPITAL GOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WITH MY CAR ON SOUTH CANYON!!!" Her voice was definitely a woman; she sounded like she had a british accent. I couldn't see her due to me laying on my side looking at the far away city I tried desperately to reach and get help. The pain was very intense more than anything I've felt before which at that point wasn't much. I soon got drowsy as the pain endured. I heard footsteps coming and as soon as I felt that she was right behind me I started to hear the sound of sirens coming this way. The pain was unbearable as my eyelids felt like weights as I tried to keep them open but I ultimately gave in and closed my eyes. "I'm sorry mom."
