It was the next day and I woke up extra early to prepare myself for work, I didn't want to be late and leave a bad impression. Standing in front of the building staring up at it made me feel small, once again I started comparing myself to Jungkook. It was like a curse that his mother left behind for me. Like a deep cut that never heals.
Brushing everything off I went inside and scanned my ID, I was very happy that I had my own ID. I kept looking at it with a dumb smile walking towards the elevator. When got inside the elevator it was pact and people were trying to shove their way inside trying to get to their departments. Squished to the back I felt suffocated until suddenly employees started emptying the elevator.
I looked up and saw people bowing to someone walking towards the elevator, this scenario seemed dauntingly familiar so I got out of the elevator like every other employee and kept my head low bowing. I didn't bother looking up, I was too afraid to look up.
Jungkook's POV
It was definitely her... or someone that really resembles Soeun. It has been five years since I saw her, I remember how we cried our hearts out at the graveyard and that was the last time I saw her.
My mother told me after what happened, she confessed the horrible things she did to her. She told me how she degraded her as a human being, she told me how she threw money at her telling her to leave. After hearing what she went through I locked myself up in my room wanting to run away but I felt so caged in this family.
I had no say in the matter, I was appointed the CEO of the company as I graduated university last year from my four-year course in the Batchelor of Business. I never wanted to dabble in the world of business but here I am, I may look like I have a perfect life but everything is far from perfect.
The past five years I tried to forget about Soeun and I was doing so good until I saw that girl in front of the elevator. She just reminded me of Soeun so much, I have also never seen her around the company. Probably a new employee that got hired since yesterday was our annual interviews.
"Mr Lee, get the files of every employee that got hired yesterday asap.", I said as the elevator doors close.
Soeun's POV
"Ugh, why does he have to take the employee elevator when he has his own personal elevator that is completely functional.", I heard a male employee vent out his frustration to his fellow coworker friends.
"Was that the boss that went by?", I asked the person who was venting out his frustrations.
The person venting out his frustrations had sleek silver hair and very prominent dimples.
"Yeah, that was the boss no one needs, but got anyways."
"My names Soeun, I am new here. Could you tell me more about why no one needs this boss? Should I run away while I have the chance to", I joked.
"Names Namjoon, I am part of the finance department... Well, the CEO of this company changed a year ago and there has been a high staff turn over ever since he took over the company. Especially his secretaries, the longest I have seen one last is one week tops. Anger management issues, bipolar moods, poor working conditions, over time are just some of the things the secretaries have to deal with."
"Wonder how long this secutary is gonna last", I joked once again trying to give off a friendly vibe.
"Yeah same here three days tops", Namjoon said with a chuckle.
"Well we should probably get to work, it was nice meeting you. Maybe we could have lunch together somethime at the staff caffeteria", I smiled and went to floor six where the media marketing.
