Chapter 63

" Please...spare me.." Watts begged as Veena approached him. She placed a hand on the sword's handle and Watts flinched.

" Veena, stop." Ruby said to her firmly. " He can't fight, they surrendered. That's enough." Veena kept her eyes on Watts. " I know you lost someone but please, we've done enough here." She pulled out her sword and Ruby winced as Watts cried out again. Mercury took a few steps back and finally decided to get as far away as possible. Qrow was speechless as Yang and Blake tried to comprehend what she might do. " Back away and show some mercy-" The shot rang through the skies, Watts stopped moving as Veena switched her shotgun back into a sword.

" I...already did that..." She said as she turned slowly, there was something dark in her eyes. Anger, or worse, wrath. " Qrow, " She snapped out her state of darkness and her eyes blinked a few times. " I need to switch weapons with you. Salem's going to kill them both and I need a bigger sword to cut my way through all this grimm". " We, are going too far." The dark figure said to her. She paused for a moment before handing her weapon. " What do you mean, we?" She hissed silently at the figure.

" Hey," He placed a hand over hers as he handed her his weapon. " Don't lose it." He looked at her in the eye and she knew what he meant. She glanced at Ruby, her eyes quivered as she looked over Watts' body. That, was over the edge. " You're not Oz, or Salem. So try not to act like them." Her eyes shifted to Yang and Blake, whom were dealing with Mercury and a couple mutated grimm. Mutated grimm. She ran as fast as she could to the mansion, there was no time to lose. Salem is one hell of a force to be reckoned with.

" Winter!" They heard Weiss cry out  as she watched her sister's ship get caught by a dragon's blast. Her ship was going to crash. 

" I got it." Qrow said as he ran past them and readied to sword in his hand. It wasn't the same length or size but it would do him just fine.

 Winter cursed as she attempted to get the ship to keep flying,  she saw something shining and before she knew it, a sword crashed through the window. A bird flew in quickly, Qrow picked up the sword and went to work on her seatbelt.

" What are you doing here?"

" Getting you out, obviously. Come on," He took her by the arm and they out of the ship's back door right before it crashed. The explosion sent them flying and the ground was ready to greet them. Qrow pulled her close, wrapping his arms around her to keep her safe. She snapped from her thoughts and used her glyphs to slow them down as they fell.

Vlad rolled over before the winged beringle could hit him. He was doing his best to hold off as many grimm as possible so that the others could fight off Hazel. Neo was with Liam, protecting him as she was asked. There were moments were she almost missed and as time passed, she felt more unsafe. She whistled and a sphinx came down to her side with a red collar around its neck. One out three of her personally hand picked pet grimm. In which almost no one understood why the Sparrow let her keep three. This one was Strawberry. She forced Liam onto the sphinx but he still refused. Not that it mattered to her, she's got a job to do. In the end, Strawberry forcefully grabbed him and flew to the nearest medical airship.

" Eyes on the fight, Fangs!" Riza reminded him as she cut down another grimm. He did as he was told and things we're almost looking up until it went wrong. Two large Ursi came up from behind him, he moved quickly to dodge and kept shifting his eyes in order to keep of the fight going on nearby with Hazel. " Fangs!" He hadn't notice the red dust powered electrical blast that was coming his way as he dodged another swipe from the Ursi. Riza screamed as the blast hit her and before she could recover a strong hit from a large grimm threw her across the ground and straight into the red stone wall.

" Riza!" He watched as a spike from the stone ceiling fall onto her, piercing her stomach. " No..." He could feel his heartbeat increase as tears stung his eyes. Alistor grabbed Zack before he could get hit by the grimm as he saw what happened to Riza. He felt something Snape inside of him, he looked at Hazel and his eyes were locked on target. " You're my next meal..." He muttered as he ran up to the larger man and attacked him. Dodging his punches as a maniacal smile started to stretch on his face. He landed firmly on the ground and looked at Hazel in the eye with his red irises locked on its target.
