Hey guys, Celestial Dragon here. I was totally touched by the episode of The golden Grasslands  in fairy tail and I wanted to write a one shot about it. This story is a Nalu AU. Warning: you might want to grab a box of tissues while reading this story. It's really sad. I almost cried myself while writing this oneshot. Now with that out the way, I present to you: Golden Grasslands. Celestial Dragon out.

A man and a woman could be seen dancing together as the golden grass tickled their knees. A breeze passed by, gently plucking a few orange and yellow leaves from trees. The couple kept dancing, hand in hand, to the music only they could hear, as the weeping willows swayed along to their slow rhythm. He twirled her around, once, twice, before claiming her in his arms once again. Her golden hair glowed more than usual in the sunlight. Her chocolate brown eyes focused on nothing but him. The corner of her lips tugged into a smile as he once again twirled her.

"Natsu"

The man perked up at the sound of his name. He looked at her, focusing his full attention on her. The woman threw her arms around his neck and pulled herself even closer to him as they continued dancing. His arms wrapped themselves around her waist in order to keep her there.

"What is it Luce?"

Lucy smiled affectionately at his nickname for her. The trees responded to the wind as it sang it's lullaby. The sun smiled down at the couple below, who were enjoying each others embrace. She laid her head on his shoulder, taking in his scent. His salmon pink locks brushed against her nose, as the breeze ruffled his hair playfully. A grin made its way on her face as she looked at their surroundings. It was still as beautiful as it was the day they discovered this place. Lucy smiled fondly at the memory. Her lips tugged down in a frown as a thought flashed in her mind.

"Will you dance here with me every year on this day?"

Natsu didn't even hesitate when he answered her. His eyes shone with love for her as his hands gripped her waist tighter, as if afraid she would fade away if he let go.

"Of course."

"Promise?"

"Promise."

She beamed at him, before standing on her tippy toes to peck his cheek. Unsatisfied, Natsu pulled her in for a real kiss. They stood there like that, before Lucy slowly withdrew her plum lips from his. At this, Natsu pouted, already missing the warmth of her lips. They continued dancing to the music only they could hear, as the weeping willows swayed to their slow rhythm.

Natsu stood still with his fists clenched so tight, his knuckles started to turn white. His bangs shadowed his eyes. Silent tears dripped down his cheeks as they fell, one after the other, onto the soil below. He dropped to his knees, arms desperately trying to dry the tears, but they just kept coming. As if the clouds read his mood, the skies turned gray as raindrops fell from the sky, watering the earth. He cried with the rain, unable to get over the fact that she is gone. Yet the gravestone stood before him, reminding him that she would never come back to him again.

The people that walked past him looked at him with pity, shaking their heads sympathetically before continuing on their path. But Natsu didn't want sympathy nor pity. All he wanted was to scoop Lucy into his arms and never ever let her go.

Every year, on the first day of Autumn, as the breeze plucks a few orange leaves from the tree branches near the golden grasslands, while the weeping willows sway to the gentle rhythm of the wind, a man with salmon pink hair could be seen dancing alone in the golden grasslands.

"Will you dance with me again, Luce?"
