Days left: 4
It was finally Friday. Kurt made plans to spend the night at Mercedes'. Rachel was coming too. He needed to get his mind off everything. So when his classes for that day were over, he immediately headed to the library to finish his homework. Luckily, he had no upcoming tests so he didn't have to study.
He finished it within two hours and immediately headed back up to his dorm. He rushed in, in a hurry to get in and out, avoiding as much conversation with Blaine as possible. He knew that Blaine always went straight up to their dorm after classes. He would lay on his bed, play on his phone, freshen up in the bathroom, do homework, head to the cafeteria for dinner, and head to Warbler rehearsal. Kurt noted that this happened everyday. Kurt would watch the muscles in his hands tense up when Blaine pressed the screen of his phone. He would watch the corner of his eyes crinkle up when Blaine would laugh at a meme or something funny he had received. Kurt would admire Blaine fondly when he twirled his fingers into his curly, brown hair. Then Kurt would look away. He never meant to stare. Kurt just found himself staring at Blaine. Everyday.
Kurt found Blaine laying on his bed like usual. He hardly glanced at him. Kurt couldn't admire him today. He didn't have time. But for some reason he was a little saddened by that. He shook his head, knowing how creepy that sounded. Kurt grabbed his keys and shrugged on his coat. He grabbed a bag he had set up the night before that contained his clothes and toiletry. He was halfway out the door before he turned and poked his head through the door frame at Blaine. "I'm leaving for tonight." Blaine didn't even look up. Kurt started to close the door.
"Kurt! Wa--" Blaine interjected quickly. But it was too late. Kurt was gone.
Kurt hopped into his car and started up the engine. He closed his eyes and leaned his head against the steering wheel. He shuddered as the cold set in. It was January in Westerville, Ohio. He looked at the thermometer on his dash. It read '-8°F'. Kurt couldn't help but roll his eyes. He almost laughed. The previous day had been a positive 10°F so this was a pretty big change in temperature.
When the car was warmed up enough, he switched the heat to high. He pulled out of the Dalton Academy parking lot. He drove the hour long drive to Mercedes' house which, lucky for him, seemed to go by pretty quick. He pulled in Mercedes' driveway; next to Rachel's car. He turned off his car and headed inside, noticing how he could see his breath. He quickly knocked on the door to announce his presence before slipping inside. Mercedes' mom was the sweetest lady he'd ever met (besides his own mom of course) and she acted like he lived there. He could come over any time he liked Mercedes and Rachel rushed to the door to greet him, ginormous grins planted firmly on their faces. They ambushed him in a hug, squeezing him to the point of combustion.
"Kurt!" They shrieked like, well, teenage girls.
"Mercedes! Rachel!" He screamed back. His excitement matched theirs. When they released him, he pretended to gasp for breath. Kurt slid his shoes off and walked into the living room, Mercedes and Rachel clinging tightly to his side. Mrs. Jones was reading a book in their living room but looked up upon hearing shrieks. He smiled warmly at Kurt.
"Hello Kurt! Long time no see! Thanks for coming over. Mercedes won't shut up about how much she misses you." Kurt grinned in return.
"Thanks Naomi. It's been way too long since I've seen the girls."
"C'mon Kurt! Let's go upstairs." Mercedes suggested. They led him to a staircase that brought them to Mercedes' room. The walls were tan colored with red, vertical stripes. There was a queen sized bed in the middle of the room, sporting a brown comforter. Across from the foot of the bed, a television was mounted on the wall. Mercedes' desk was in one corner of the room and her wardrobe on the other. Kurt, Mercedes, and Rachel all found a place to sit on Mercedes' bed. They started to chat excitedly.
"The Glee club is doing Taylor Swift week!" Rachel exclaimed.
"No. Way. Mr. Shue knows that she's one of my favorites. He did not do Taylor Swift without me." Kurt fumed.
"He did! Don't worry. No one could come near my baby's version of 'Style'." Mercedes responded.
"Omg we have to sing that right now! For old time's sake." Rachel clapped, grinning ear-to-ear.
"Yes!" Mercedes agreed. She hopped off the bed and strolled to her speaker across the room. She plugged her phone into it and pressed a few buttons before playing the song. Kurt sang first, since he was the honorary guest after all.
"Midnight, you come and pick me up, no headlights
Long drive, could end in burning flames or paradise
Fade into view, oh,
It's been a while since I have even heard from you
(Heard from you)"Mercedes started the next part.
"And I should just tell you to leave 'cause I
Know exactly where it leads but I
Watch it go round and round each time"Rachel interjected.
"You got that James Dean daydream look in your eye
And I got that red lip, classic thing that you like
And when we go crashing down, we come back every time"They sang the rest together.
"'Cause we never go out of style, we never go out of style
You've got that long hair slick back, white t-shirt
And I got that good girl faith and a tight little skirt
And when we go crashing down, we come back every time
'Cause we never go out of style, we never go out of style
So it goes, he can't keep his wild eyes on the road
Takes me home, lights are off he's taking off his coat (Hm yeah)
I say "I've heard that you've been out and about with some other girl, some other girl"
He says "What you've heard is true but I
Can't stop thinking about you" and I
I said "I've been there too a few times"
'Cause you got that James Dean daydream look in your eye
And I got that red lip, classic thing that you like
And when we go crashing down, we come back every time
'Cause we never go out of style, we never go out of style
You've got that long hair slick back, white t-shirt
And I got that good girl faith and a tight little skirt (A tight little skirt)
And when we go crashing down, we come back every time
'Cause we never go (We never go) out of style, we never go out of style
Take me home
Just take me home
Yeah just take me home, oh
You got that James Dean daydream look in your eye
And I got that red lip, classic thing that you like
And when we go crashing down, we come back every time
'Cause we never go out of style, we never go out of style"They ended in a fit of giggles. "Oh my god it has been way to long." Kurt said after they finished laughing.
"I know." Rachel frowned.
"So Kurt," Mercedes smiled, eager for a change of topic. "How's your new school?"
"It's good. Warbler rehearsals are going well. We are so gonna win at Regionals."
"In your wildest dreams white boy." Mercedes snorted.
"So Kurt, have you found this boy yet?" Rachel asked, concerned. Kurt avoided their eyes.
He mumbled in response. "No."
"Awww, boo! You find him I know!" Mercedes wrapped him up in another hug. "How many more?"
"4."
They gasped. "We need to help!"
"Rachel, there's nothing you can do."
Mercedes winked. "Watch us."

Okay so about the whole weather thing, where I live it's legit -9°F. The government where I live is pretty much freaking out. It's not unusual for Winter here though. I haven't had school all week because of the weather so that's nice.
Filler!
I recently won my school spelling bee so now I'm headed to the county spelling bee. I probably won't update as often because all I freaking do is study.
Have a great day!
