Kaminari's POV
I hummed quietly to myself as I worked on a sandcastle, as far away from the water as I can get. They others were in a water volleyball game which I watched from afar. I jumped a little when someone sat next to me. I smiled brightly at Bakugou, my boyfriend.
"Why haven't you gotten in the water?" He asked, helping a bit with the sandcastle.
"My quirk." I replied simply.
"But you've gone into the hot springs with us." He countered.
I glanced at the big body of water, memories flashing in my mind, before I quickly looked away pretending to be distracted by my sandcastle. Bakugou noticed, and turned my attention to him.
"Denki, what's wrong?" He asked.
I knew that there was no getting out of this. I sighed, leaning against him.
"When I was about 4 or 5 years old my class had a field trip to the beach. Unlike most kids in my class I didn't know how to swim because I didn't have full control of my quirk so we avoided putting me in water as much as we could. The other kids knew this but decided to use on of their quirks and throw me into the deep end. Of course, I didn't stay float but sank, in my panic I lost control of my quirk and no one was able to save me until I fell unconscious."
We sat in silence, Bakugou's arms wrapped me, giving me some comfort.
"I stayed as far away from water as I can ever since. It was a hassle to get me in the bath after that, but I learned to cope with my fear unless there is a deep end." I added.
"Names." He explained after a moment of silence.
"Huh?"
"What are the names of those assholes who did that to you, so I can find them and kill them."
I couldn't help but giggle a bit at this. Although it was a little scary, I couldn't help but feel a little touched by his protective-ness over me.
"Kat, no. For two reasons, one: That's against the law and I don't have the money to bail you out, two: I don't remember their names, I was really young and mom made me switch schools right after."
Bakugou grumbled to himself as he shifted us so we were laying on my towel I had lay out for myself. He told me to wake him when it was time to go, but I also fell asleep.
I snapped awake when certain redhead lift me off the ground and started running to water laughing.
"K-Kirishima, no! S-Stop!" I shouted trying to struggle out if his grip.
He ignored me, and ran into the water, throwing me into the deep end.
"YOU IDIOTS!" I heard someone shout before I hit the water.
Like last time, I started to sink. I panicked trying to reach the surface, fear running through my whole body and electricity escaped. In my panic I breath in the water, and it filled my lungs. Black spots dotted my vision when strong hands grabbed onto me and pulled me to the surface. I gasped for air, coughing up the water in my lung, my quirk turned off, but I was still shaking like a leaf clinging to the person who saved me.
"Shh, I got you."
It was Bakugou, he's the one that saved me. He rubbed his hand up and down my back as he carried my out of the water. When he set me on the sand I rolled over, coughing up more water, then vomiting. I shook all over feeling weak and tired, and most of all, terrified. Even though I was out of the water, I could still feel the fear running through me. Bakugou rubbed my back and whisper that I was save now, that everything was going to be alright. I heard footsteps approach and Bakugou growled.
"You could have killed him, Shitty Hair! Do you ever think!"
"Katsuki, stop..... H-He didn't know... I never told a-anyone about that..." I cut in, my voice weak.
"I-I'm still really sorry, Kaminari! It's true that I didn't know you couldn't swim, but I should have listened when you told me to stop. I'm very sorry, Kami, can you forgive me?" He asked with a bow.
I nodded weakly, no longer finding the energy to do anything but lay there and shake. A fluffy towel wrapped around me and Bakugou pick me up bridal style. I heard the others packing up. I slowly opened my eye and looked at Bakugou. I gasped, covering his whole body was bruises and red marks from my electricity.
"I know what you're thinking, Denki. Don't you dare apologize, or say that I shouldn't have went to get you, because I would a thousand times over to keep you safe. Now we're gonna go see Recovery Girl and get us both healed and you're gonna shut up and let it happen."
The tone in his voice left no room for argument, so I kept my mouth shut and fell asleep in his arms.
