I opened my eyes and I turned my head and saw Steve asleep on the bed curled up to me as much as possible. I reached out with my hand to touch his face. His eyes twitched and he opened them.
"Hi doll".
"Hi hun".
"I'm happy you're awake. You had me worried".
"I'm not leaving you. I love you too much".
"I love you too so much".
He kissed my lips and laid his forehead against mine.
"And you know I'd give my life to save yours Steve. The world needs you and the rest of the team. You're their leader".
"I couldn't live without you doll".
"Hopefully we never have to live without the other then".
I kissed his nose and he smiled.
"Hey look who's awake", said Tony
"Hi guys", I said softly.
"How're you feeling sweetie?" Asked Natasha.
"Sore all over".
"I bet. You just take it easy for a good while and rest then you'll be joining us again".
"It's probably going to take a month or so I bet".
"At least we know you'll be okay though".
"Your safety is more important doll. We'll be okay".
"I know Steve I know".
