"Did you bring any water?" she asked, pouring the freshly made smoothie into a glass and put it on the kitchen counter in front of Jared.

"Mm," he answered mindlessly, stuffing pancakes in his mouth and scrolling on his phone.

"And the pills for your back? Oh, do you need the new heating pads I got you?" she asked trying to go through his backpack once again.

Jared looked up from his phone slightly annoyed, "I'll be fine," he grabbed her wrist pulling her away from his climbing gear. "Just sit down and eat," he tightened his grip and watched her reluctantly sat down on the barstool before running her fingers through her long brown hair in frustration.

She had been driving him crazy all morning, cooking breakfast, going through his backpack, running around the house like a maniac in her messy hair and oversized Black Fuel T-shirt. Right now she was busy trying to untangled her hair from the huge diamond on her engagement ring.

Jared glanced at her trying to hold back a laugh. As annoying as she was being this morning, he had to admit it wasn't a bad way to start the day with a sexy yet adorable sight like this. He couldn't say it out loud though, he didn't want to get killed.

"I don't understand why do you have to climb that stupid mountain. What if you hurt your back again," she pouted picking at her pancakes with a fork.

"I guess I'll just fall off the mountain and die," Jared rolled his eyes. "Stop ruining the fun for me."

Her eyes immediately widen in disbelief. Not only did he show zero gratitude for the time and effort she spent on finding heating pads that came in unicorn shape, He thinks this is a joke? She was worrying sick about him. How ungrateful!

She put down the fork and stood up with a frown on her face. Turning his barstool to her direction, she cupped his face in both hands, "just promise me you'll be careful."

Jared stared into her worried eyes and let out a heavy sigh, "I promise."

Her expression softened just a little and she smiled before placing a soft kiss on his forehead, "now did you bring any water?"

Jared rolled his eyes for the hundredth time today, "you gotta stop treating me like a fucking 5-year-old, MOM!" he mocked.

"HEY, don't talk to your future sister like that," Shannon walked into the kitchen heading straight towards his fiancée. His strong arms instantly wrapped around her tiny waist. "Good morning beautiful," he kissed her sweetly.

"Good morning baby," she smiled brightly pressing her forehead against his.

Shannon gave her one more peck on the lips before sitting down on the barstool, waiting for her to bring him his daily dose of caffeine.

"Your wife is stressing me the fuck out," Jared mumbled before starting to drink his smoothie.

Here we go again. Shannon chuckled and shook his head. He still remembered the huge fight they had not too long ago when Jared found out she signed him up on a vegan dating site. "I just wanted to find him a soulmate like i found you," she defended.

"Seriously," Jared said in an irritated tone, "she is worse than you. I didn't know overprotectiveness is contagious. Tell her to stop this shit!"

"Hey!" she quickly protested glaring at Jared, "it's my natural instinct to be protective! You're my little brother!"

"Stop calling me that! You're way younger than me!" Jared groaned frustratingly.

Shannon burst out laughing, amused by their childish fight as always. He took the coffee mug from her hand and pulled her onto his lap, "Babe, he is a grown ass man. Maybe take it down a notch?"

She huffed in defeat and threw her arms around his neck, burying her face in his shoulder, clearly not happy about Shannon taking their little brother's side.

"Awww," Jared snickered and pet her hair. "Always a good girl," he teased.

Shannon raised an eyebrow at his brother, daring him to ever say that again.

Oops, shouldn't have done that. One day he's gonna get killed by his own brother.

Jared cleared his throat and put down the now empty glass, "umm, I'm gonna go now."

"Where are you going?" Shannon asked feeding the girl on his lap a piece of pancake.

"Rock climbing," Jared answered picking up his now 3 times heavier backpack.

"Rock climbing?" Shannon hesitated for a second, "is your back okay for that? Do you need some heating pads? Did you bring any water with you?"

"OH. MY. GOD!!!" Jared shouted loudly at the ceiling startled the loving couple. He threw his hands in the air and stormed out of the house. Slamming the door behind him, he left the two of them staring at each other in confusion.

"What the fuck was that?" Shannon frowned.

"I have no clue," she replied putting her face back into the crook of his neck.

"What an ungrateful prick."

"I know!!!"
