In the mountains there was a kingdom in a valley betwixt the many peaks.
From cold down to the mushy grass to the woodlands to the fields. Down, down, down, into the valley, to the farmer that did wield, a hoe he used for digging in his garden near his home.
Fell a rock pure and white and shiny it did glow.
Metallic and smooth. Slick and suave.
He pecked at it with his tool and flipped it back and forth.
He picked it up with his hand and looked it over well. On the belly he did see a prophecy from the sky foretell.
Coming is more. More and more. We will roll and tumble and fall. Till all, each and every last one of us fall. Till we drown you in stone. And in rubble and bone.
The man was afraid and the man did fear. For the doom of himself and his family was near.
He dropped what he was doing and ran into town. To warn the Lords and Commoners and the Crowne.
He made a scream and a yell and a cry so loud. Louder than the town cryer. There was danger, the people could tell.
They gathered around as he breathlessly stood. Bent over on his knees to catch his breath. Out from the castle came the Kings decree, OPEN THE GATE IMMEDIATELY.
Someone gave him a wineskin to wet his pallet, just as the king said "Good sir, what is the matter? Please do tell it!".
The man stood up and handed over the stone.
Examined it, did the men of the throne. He said, King, O King of our land, who is mighty enough to defend?
The king looked off in the distance then down at the man as his loyal servant whispered into the Kings ear.
"Sir, we must build a wall higher than, than the mountains that rise 'ore us"
The king opened his mouth and commanded it so. But where shall the stone come from he wondered as he ordered the people to go.
The foundation around the city was set. But the amount of stone needed was not met. The builders sat on bum and back. Waiting to work as they heard a crack.
A falling rock onto the base. An idea hit a Lord square in the face.
We shall wait then build! And use the rock against them. Taking, not being killed, what they use against us. We shall win!
As days went by, rocks and stone fell. The builders built higher and laughed as they watched.
The onslaught and plan of the enemy was botched.
Day by day the rocks came in faster. But the wall rose higher, much faster.
The man who warned the land soon went home. With wife and family and did hold them.
Safe and sound and carrying on. Back to his field.
But when he began digging, do you know what he did see?
