Raylynn could hardly believe her ears. Song trusting complete and total strangers? What had come over her? Raylynn immediately opened her links with Song and Hawthorn. <What are you thinking Song?>
<Yeah (Hawthorn agreed.) Why do you suddenly trust these people? For all we know they may be lying.>
<Relax you two I haven't lost it. (Song replied calmly.) I was only thinking that with Hawthorn leading the way and Raylynn bringing up the rear keeping people from noticing anything unusual and making sure that our three "guests" from harming us that we could find out sooner what they want.>
<And just what will you be doing O Quick-Witted One?>
<I'll be talking to them with my Gift so that they'll tell me what they want while you both listen and when we get to the gardens we can decide whether we want to join their rebellion or not. >
<Wow (Hawthorn replied shocked.) The thieves knew what they were doing when they named you Quick-Witted.>
<Sounds like a plan so let's start putting it into action shall we?> Raylynn asked before she closed off her mental links. The whole mental exchange had only taken about one minute.
"Let's be going shall we?" Song asked politely. Raylynn could tell that Song was getting ready to use her Gift and so she waited until Hawthorn left followed by the three strangers and Song before she used her Gift to make them appear like they weren't there.
"My name is Quick and the glowing wonder up ahead is Pyro. The quiet but gorgeous girl behind us is Psych, but I'm sure you already knew that didn't you?" Song said casually yet it seemed like she was making casual conversation. Raylynn knew that Song was merely forcing their companions to tell her their names, which they did.
"My name is Commander and this is Judicious. The one that you trapped is called Blade." The girl informed Song.
"So Commander, what is it that the rebellion needs us for?" Song asked innocently.
"Well, we need you to help us keep the Feldak from gaining control of Harmony Peak." Commander informed.
Hawthorn picked up on this piece of information and asked, "Well if the Feldak are already in control of Kinsa then how can we keep them from gaining control of something that they already have?"
"While the Feldak have control of the eastern part of Kinsa they don't have control of the western part of it." Judicious informed them. "Blade here says that if the Feldak were trying to gain control of all of Kinsa they would go through Pavenel Plains, cross the area of the Kinsa River that is closest to the mountain range and set up fortresses near the base of it."
"What Jud is trying to tell you,"Corren interrupted, "is that if the Feldak gain control of the west side of Kinsa River then there will be no hope of them ever being defeated. We would have no advantage over them." He said bluntly.
"Exactly." Commander agreed. "Which is where you three would come in; Pyro could use his Gift to prevent the Feldak from crossing the river or in the least make it difficult for them. Psych and Quick could make sure that if we encounter any Feldak they don't suspect anything."
