Will's POV

I awoke to the sound of the thunderstorm outside my cabin at Camp Half-Blood.  The nightmares had come again, and so I woke with a start.  It was still the middle of the night.  I had had one of those dreams again, about my time there.  I had spent too much time there.  You probably don't know what I'm talking about, but I have major PTSD from it.  I try not to show it, but the nightmares keep getting more and more vivid and hard to forget.   I was in the Hunger Games.  Now, I know what you are thinking, Will, that would imply that you are from the future, but you aren't, right?   Well, I am from the future, one where the seven didn't defeat Gaea before she had wiped out almost all of the human race and land. Panem was founded, and then the dark days came.  The 13 districts rebelled against the Capitol, but the Capitol won, so the Hunger Games was established.  Every year the 12 districts, (13 was destroyed) send 2 tributes, one boy and one girl, out into an arena to fight to the death for the entertainment of others.  I was in the 69th Hunger Games with my twin sister, Mia Solace.  She supposedly died in the games.  We were both from District 10.  We were reaped together and fought together.  Mia was, what Apollo called, his heir.  She had magical healing abilities and the power to summon a bow and quiver at will, and the power to control light.  She was supposed to get out with me, but got stuck and didn't make it out.

I stood up out of my bed.  I had just dreamed about one of our fights.  The time Mia had killed another person so I could survive.  She lost her last chance at sanity to keep me alive. We had been cornered by another tribute, Glade, and she had almost killed me.  Mia had been hunting, and came back to her on top of me.  She shot Glade in the head with her arrow, and then threw her into the creek.  She almost went insane from doing it.   And here I am, not doing anything.  Apollo told me that Mia had died, and that she had made it Elysium .  I wanted to ask Nico to check, but I haven't.  I felt a piece of me die that night and I don't want to relive it.  There was a knock on the cabin door.  Making sure none of the campers woke, I tiptoed to the door and opened it.  It was Nico DiAngelo.

"Nico, what are you doing up and over here?" I whispered.  He said nothing, but motioned for me to follow.  I threw on a shirt and jacket, even though it's summer, and walked after him.  He stoped by the lake.  "You just had a nightmare." Nico said.  "Yeah, I did." I replied.  "It was something dark, I sensed it." he said, "Are you ok?"  "Yeah," I said, "Did you bring me all the way out here to see if I was ok?"  "No," he said, "I want to know what it was about.  Will, you've been having these dreams for a while now, haven't you?  They're something really dark, about your past.  What have you not told me?"  My eyes were tearing up.  He really cared about me, so I decided to tell him.  I told him everything, about the Hunger Games, about Mia, about the nightmares, everything.  He just sat there, listening to it all.  He didn't interrupt me with questions or comments, he just listened.  When I had finished, he said, "You went through all of this when you were twelve and you are still sane?"  I nodded.  "What happened to Mia?" he asked.  "Apollo said she died." I replied.  "Really?" he said, "Interesting.  I'm going to check on that.  Go back to sleep."  He shadow-traveled out of there, leaving me to walk back to my cabin alone.  I feel back asleep, this time with a demigod dream.

Instead of seeing the woods surrounding me and Mia, I saw Mia fighting some people in a completely unknown place.  She had a girl and a boy about her age next to her.  She still looked 12.  She summoned her signature bow and quiver and completely wounded her attackers.  She healed them almost immediately, as with all the others.  "Good training, Diana, Zack." Mia said to the kids next to her.  "Thanks, guys," she said to the attackers, "Let's take a break.  Then more training.  We have to be ready to fight Nugget." The other people walked away.  "How am I supposed to do this on my own?" She said to herself, "OH, Will, I wish you were still alive.  Then I'd have someone to talk too."  I wanted to yell at her that I'm right here, but I couldn't make any noise.  She turned and faced right at me, and with a surprised expression said, "Will?"
