Username: HumanitysFosterChild

Summary:

The year is 2109. America never settled in the New World and before it could establish itself as a country, it was seized by the Holy Roman Empire.

Now, its people are divided into two categories: Dominant Citizens and second-class Subhumans. Citizens lead the world in the fields of art and innovation, while Subs handle industrial and civic work. It's a division of society going back generations.

Not everyone is happy with this arrangement.

Lyra Quinnzelle is a courier in Republic City trying to escape her family's shadow and bide time until graduation, not sure what she wants to do yet.

Evelyn West is a young hacker prodigy who is basically out for herself, but as long as she's working for the good guys, no one cares.

Alaude Bishop is a former Knight of the Empire, currently wanted for treason and espionage after running off to join a terrorist organization.

On the day of the Mag-Lev Bombings, the three Citizens become entangled in the Human Liberation Army's war against the Holy Roman Empire when Alaude recruits Lyra and Evelyn under questionable circumstances with an equally questionable cause.

Now, with no idea how she became a terrorist, Lyra must survive recruit training under the tyrannical instructer, Alpha, and Evelyn is tasked with crippling the Empire's computer network while dealing with a mental breakdown.

They are joined by Alaude's team--the kindhearted strategist, Jagger; snarky sharpshooter, Cinder; and enigmatic whiz kid, Quentin--and a variety of colorful characters from the Human Liberation Army, all working towards the same goal:

Elimination of the societal barriers between Citizens and Subhumans, in the real world and in the virtual reality playground, the V-Verse.
