21- Snakes

"So, who else is trapped in this place?" Skyler asks. The three Asgardians look at each other.

"No one. Urikson only gave us the killing blow with his sword. Others died of multiple wounds," Lorelei says, "and we aren't able to find a way out. Said is that only snakes can."

"Snakes, eh?" Skyler smirks mischievously, "Then be glad I came."

"What do you mean with that?" Narfi speaks up, confused with her.

"Wait and see, dear cousin," Skyler mutters, as she rolls up the sleeve of her armour. A golden bracelet of a snake appears to be on her entire arm, "You can wake up, Kell."

The bracelet suddenly turns green, the eyes of the snake opening, looking around like liquid gold. It slithers off Skyler's arm and seems to grow fast. Within two minutes, there's a giant green snake in front of the four companions.

"Lorelei, my cousins, this is Kelly. My own snake and personal guard," Skyler states happily. Her own eyes seem to turn slightly green for a second, as she concentrates her powers on her language, "Kelly do you know a way out of here?"

"Yesss, I do, miss. Follow me..." the snake swishes, as it slithers away from them, to the horizon.

"Skyler! Thank the Norns, are you alright?" Loki asks, as he hugs his niece close, looking at her after.

Skyler's mouth opens to answer as another female voice does it for her, "Well, if that isn't Loki Odinson, the not-so heir to the throne of Asgard," Lorelei sneers from behind Skyler, her clothes ripped and burned, as a purple fog has filled the abandoned common room of Slytherin.

In one swift movement, Loki moves Skyler behind him and holds two daggers in his hands, "How are you alive?" He hisses at Lorelei.

"The same way we are," another voice speaks up from inside the mist, as two identic men walk up to the three, one of them supporting the other, who appears to have a wounded leg.

"Hello, father," Narfi says, as he gives Loki a pained smile. The God of Mischief is frozen to his spot as Skyler smirks broadly.

"I suppose you all return to Avengers Tower and leave me be with my friends for a moment?" She suggests, opening the palms of her hands. The purple mist fades and all the adults are covered in a green glow, before they disappear in thin air.

"So, how long was I away?" Skyler asks, "I suppose only for a few hours, considering that Loki was here still. Why are you all looking at me like that?" She adds, as her Slytherin friends are staring at her, mouths agape.

"How in the name of Salazar Slytherin are you not dead already?" Blaise exclaims, stepping forward to hug Skyler brotherly, "Skyler of Asgard, you are the most unpredictable girl I'll ever know."

"Missed you too, Blaise," Skyler whispers.

"You were gone for less than a day? Am I that special to you?" Blaise jests, smirking at her. Skyler looks down, her expression distant from the others.

"Time worked different in the Land of the Fallen... I spent four days there, searching for a way out," Skyler states.

After hours of walking, the snake in front of the group freezes, and slithers back to Skyler at a high speed.

"Ssshrink me oncesss more, my lady. There'ssss danger," Kelly says, alarming Skyler, who nods and holds out her arm.

Kelly shrinks quickly and turns into a golden bracelet again. Her eyes don't close though, they become green and look around carefully.

Skyler draws her sword and her companions copy her actions, "Kelly said there is danger ahead, keep your eyes sharp and your weapons ready," she says, eyeing Lorelei's axe, "Not what I expected from a siren to wear." She states.

The woman raises her eyebrow, "It is a brutal weapon, and I can wield it. Explain to me with what weapon my daughter fights if she isn't in the waters?"

"A gun. Thrice as small as that axe, a hundred times more lethal. Certainly, in Cassidy's hands," Skyler states, smiling at the thought of her friend.

"I see there will be many surprises for me once I return to my daughter and her father?" Lorelei asks indirectly to Skyler.

"Not only for you," the young princess answers, glancing at her cousins, "your father is currently courting a woman who's in her twenties."

"He courts a baby?" Vali's face shows a disgusted look.

"He is dating a Midgardian," Skyler smiles. Lorelei's eyes widen and Narfi's mouth goes agape.

"The royal family allows him to poison their bloodline with Midgardian blood?" Lorelei's voice drips with jealousy and venom.

"My mother is Midgardian as well, so I'd watch your steps if I were you," Skyler threatens with narrowed eyes, "Besides, Hel is having a relationship with a Valkyrie. I think our family has become more accepting over the years."

"Hel is dating a what now?" Narfi yells, his voice reverberating through the plains. The others hush him, but Skyler merely rolls her eyes.

"A Valkyrie, Narfi. And leave her be, I actually think it's great that the society of Asgard becomes a little less strict on those points. The nobility wouldn't even accept the fact that there'd be no King if I were to be Queen. Gods, that was amusing. I made them kneel within an hour," Skyler explains with a smirk, still satisfied with what she'd accomplished on her planet.
