As we walk along the beach, my mind wanders. But not necessarily about Lorien as it usually does, but about Wade. It seems I've been doing a lot of thinking about him lately, ever since I discovered my feelings for him. But my thoughts are interrupted by Wade's deep melodic, soothing voice.

"You know what we should do?" I turn to him, making myself look curious.

"What?" He gets this gorgeous smirk on his face at my interest.

"There's a store about half a mile from here," He pauses in suspension. "Want some ice cream?" I smile and say,

"Sounds perfect." As we walk, we talk. We make small conversation. Asking questions about each other, getting to know one another better. When we get to the store and walk in, I take note of everything. Not many people here, ten or fifteen at most. Three cashier workers, two security guards.

"Miya, this way." Wade whispers in my ear and guides me towards the frozen food isle. After standing in front of the various flavors of ice cream, we each pick a flavor. We walk, slowly towards the exit and as we are leaving the store isle Wade says in a hushed voice,

"Wanna see how fast I can run?" I look at him questionable.

"What?"

"I'm gonna sprint out of here, they'll never even know I took the ice cream." I respond in a hushed voice as well,

"Why not just buy it?" He rolls his eyes and puffs out air from his mouth.

"Capitalism? Didn't know you were a rule follower." Quickly and without thinking, I blurt out,

"I'm not. I just.." I search my mind for a reasonable explanation. "I didn't want you to think I was that girl who, does whatever she wants." I cringe at my awful lying. I've been lying all my life! Why was that such a crappy excuse?! But to my surprise, he smiles.

"You and I are more alike than I thought." He starts to ease the cold container out of my hand, showing that he'll shoplift them both. But I quickly snatch it away, getting an idea on how to impress him.

"I got it. I'm not a helpless little girl." He looks at me questionable, but I can see he likes me a bit more.

"You're fourteen." I look at him, a bit taken aback.

"So? I can do things for myself." He shrugs, letting the argument die away. We make our way towards the front of the shop, making ourselves look casual. All of a sudden, Wade shoves his ice cream into my arms and says quietly,

"Get ready." I nod and watch him reach into his pocket and fumble with is wallet, making it seem like he is getting money out. He drops some coins and bends down to pick them up, then everything erupts into chaos. He yells, feigning pain. I step back, acting surprised keeping up with his little show. Other customers turn in curiosity and one of the two security guards sprints over, along with two of the cashiers. After watching them for a minute, I see Wade glance up at me telling me to run. I look around trying to find the second security guard. But after failing, I decide to just go for it and sprint. I launch off of the area I'm standing in, clutching the cold ice cream against my chest. I'm almost at the door when all of a suddenly, a strong hand tightens itself around my upper arm and I'm yanked back. I almost lose my balance but manage to keep myself upright. I lose my grip on the ice cream and they go crashing to the ground. I look and see the second security guard standing over me. Crap.... I think to myself. Hilde is going to be so mad. I look over and see Wade sitting up, looking at me in disgust. I see a few police officers walk in, not many. They drag Wade up to his feet and put cuffs around his wrists. What am I gonna do? What am I gonna tell Hilde? She always told me "Stay hidden One.", "Don't stand out One.", "Don't do anything stupid One.". I've got to come up with something to tell her. I'm distracted when cuffs are slapped onto my own wrist. I'm shoved outside by a police officer and I'm pushed into the back of the car. I look out the window and see they are pulling Wade towards the same car I'm sitting in. When he gets in, he doesn't look at me. I look out the window, as the car starts moving. I look over at Wade and say,
