After a shift that never seemingly wanted to end, Winona heaved a sigh as she clocked out, her blonde hair falling out of her once neat hairstyle. Stress would be the death of her, one of these weeks. The female made her way to the front office of Fairmount, feet practically dragging across the floor with fatigue. After spending her shifts assigned to HABIT- it wasn't surprising why she was exhausted both mentally and physically. The teenager was quite draining to work with, and vaguely threatening. So threatening to officials, in fact, that both Winona and Ruth were classed as 'high risk staff' in regards to who HABIT was most likely, in the grand scheme of things, to hurt in some way.
He'd already killed a previous safeguarding nurse. Who was to say he wouldn't, or couldn't, do it again?
Nevertheless, Winona happily endured her job due to how rewarding it could be. After all, watching HABIT and Patrick become so close? Observing as HABIT stabilised, the one thing every member of staff thought impossible? It was an amazing feeling. Even though HABIT was most definitely not stable at this point, it was a huge relief knowing that the possibility for him to stabilise was there. Despite all odds.
A smile rose to her lips as her light green eyes were graced with a hoodie-wearing Ruth who was waiting patiently by the main door for her, "There you are- I thought you'd never surface." Ruth teased lightly, her dark hair falling around her face as she shook her head and motioned to the door, "Shall we go?"
"Please. I want food." The blonde whined in response, earning a light chuckle from the taller female. It was currently Golden Hour- named appropriately due to the golden hue of the sun as it began its descent and kissed everything it touched with its rays. It was Winona's favourite time of the day, the little window of rest before she had to return to her post for night shift alongside Ruth. The dark haired other opened the main door and ushered Winona out, before following after her to her car,
"How about we go to the coffee-shop in town? I'll pay." Ruth offered happily, as she climbed into the driver's seat and clicked her seatbelt into place. Clambering into the passenger's seat, Winona gave a beaming grin and giggled,
"Well if you're paying, I'm not turning the offer up!"
Ruth rolled her eyes in a fond manner and started the car, "Thought as much, angel."
By now, Winona had gathered her suspicions that Ruth was indeed interested in women; more specifically, had a little thing for her. At least, that's what the blonde had hoped, due to having fallen completely for the other nurse. After all, she had just referred to her as 'angel.'
The blonde female happily gazed out of the car window as Ruth drove away from Fairmount and followed the main road back into the city centre- about a twenty-minute drive away. Clearing her throat, Ruth quickly glanced over to Winona whom of which was absorbed with staring at the outside world through the window. The way the golden sun graced her features and kissed her face made Ruth's heart ache. The sandy coloured hair that fell around her face in messy waves glowed as the sun painted it, and her eyes glittered a light green.
A living angel, in the dark haired woman's eyes.
In Winona's eyes, Ruth's honey-toned skin and deep brown eyes were ethereally complimented by the sun and its molten gold light during this hour. This was a main reason why Golden Hour was Winona's most beloved time of the day.
"So, coffee-shop and then we'll chill for a while until we gotta go back for night shift." Ruth mused happily, as Winona rolled her eyes lightly,
"It's going to be a long night." The blonde responded with a sigh, much to Ruth's amusement as she kept her focus on the road in front of them. A comfortable silence came between the two of them as they entered the city and Ruth drove them to the coffee-shop and parked the car in the designated area. Winona unclipped her seatbelt and exited the car, Ruth did the same before locking the car doors behind them and pocketing the keys, turning to the shorter female,
