the flowers I received, which I swore were fake
I would have forever
I put the flowers in a vase, no water of course
they are fake
I noticed the wrinkling of the petals, the sad look on their face
because I took one look and assumed they were fake
the flowers still sit in an empty vase
with the same sad look on their face
only now they're lifeless
their petals have dropped
they are no longer connected
just like the love I gave
it all just faded away
