It was a normal day for Alice. She was walking to sixth hour Social Studies, carrying a binder about to burst open from the pure amount of papers crammed into it on one side. She was talking to her friend Katie as she walked down the hall.

"So, I heard from Andrew that you and Jake are an item now." Katie said.

"You heard what?" Alice asked, doing a double take.

"There's no need to be embarrased, Alice. He's pretty hot."

"We've never been an item!"

"Then why were you passing saucy notes during English earlier today?"

"What? I don't even have English with Jake!" Alice shouted, perhaps a bit too loudly. Katie only chuckled.

"It's okay. It's about time you got a boyfriend who wasn't fictional after all." Katie said.

"But I don't...I never...what."

Alice had no idea what to say at this point, so she simply let Katie continue on rambling until they went separate ways to class.

As Alice entered her Social Studies class, she saw that tons of people turned towards her as she entered the room, and there was lots of whispering and pointing. She guessed word had traveled pretty fast, and once it had traveled this far, there was no way she could stop it now.

She also saw someone else in the class; Jake. She stared daggars into him, and Jake briefly turned around and looked at him, then turned around quickly again, not daring to look back again.

That bastard! She'd make him pay, telling everyone they were an item.

---

As Jake sat in Social Studies class, he felt himself slowly start to get bored. All Mr. Faltner was doing today was showing a PowerPoint and some YouTube videos on ancient Egypt. It was an easy day, and he saw a kid or two asleep around him.

He felt himself get ideas in his head as he got lost in his thoughts. Suddenly, a certain urge came over him, an urge only certain types of people get.

And those types of people are writers.

Jake wanted to write.

He had already gotten caught once today, but the logic portion of his brain wasn't exactly working when he had this urge. Who cares if he gets caught again?

Well, maybe two pieces of paper wouldn't sit so well in his digestive system, but whatever.

Jake pulled a loose leaf piece of paper out of his binder and began to write Band's Recovery chapter two from scratch again.

---

Alice was lost in her own thoughts as well, but most of them were murderous thoughts. Thoughts of the things she'd do to Jake, if they were legal.

Yeah, for a cute nerd girl, she had a vicious side. Must have been all the vampire fanfiction from junior high. She cringed remembering some of them.

Why did Jake choose her of all things? He was the most popular boy in school, and she was just...well, there.

Was he delibrately messing with her? Is that what guys do; pick out random girls from a crowd and mess with them? Already she was getting nasty looks from some of the other girls who had the hots for him. Well, they could certainly have him if they wanted!

When the bell finally rang, the class all shuffled out (with the exception of a few kids, who had been sleeping all hour, were awoken by the bell and sort of stumbled out of the class). Alice followed Jake from a distance. He didn't notice her at first, but when he did, he started to speed up a bit. So did Alice.

Finally, she made her move. She pushed Jake into the faculty closet, not sure if anyone was watching. If they were watching...well, people already thought they were a couple. How could it get any worse?

"What do you want from me?" Jake asked.

"Just what have I been hearing about you saying we're a couple? And that we passed notes during English?" Alice asked with an accusative, fierce tone in her voice. "I barely know you!"

"Look, I wasn't the one who started it; I only told Andrew because I needed a cover-up story, and he started spreading it around."

"What did you need a cover-up story for? And why the hell did you use my name? We're not even in the same English class!"

"I panicked, alright? And as to what I needed a cover-up story for...well, that's another long story."

"I've got time." Alice said, holding the closet door in case Jake tried to escape.

"We're going to be late for class." Jake advised her.

"I don't care."

Well, she actually did care a little bit; this would mess up her no-tardy award since junior high. Alice tried to push that to the back of her mind as she continued to accuse Jake.

"Tell me what you needed a cover-up story for," Alice started, hand still on the door. "or else you'll never get out of this closet."

Just as Jake was about to protest again, his loose-leaf piece of paper from the last class dropped out of his binder, as he was in a rush to shove it in as he was leaving class. He bent over to pick it up, but Alice picked it up first.

He felt his heart rate increase rapidly as Alice looked at it. He was hoping maybe she wouldn't know what it was. He knew that was wrong through, once he saw her eyes nearly bug out of her head.

"Wait a second...this is..." Alice started, tripping on her words before finally making a sentence out. "You're Double-L from Fandom-power.net?"

Gulp.
