The train pulled out of the station late that night. Elliot and Olivia sat and ate a very late dinner or a very early breakfast in the club car. Elliot kept feeling people staring at them because they shared almost identical bruises and because they were teenagers on a train out of New York.
"Do you feel them staring at us?" Elliot asked before he wiped his mouth off with a napkin.
"I've gotten really good at ignoring people, Elliot. Just ignore them." Olivia replied, as she slipped her beanie off and shoved it into her purse.
"Where'd you get that scar?" Elliot asked as he noticed the red scar on Olivia's hair line. She didn't reply, all she did was move her bangs back into place before finishing off her sandwich.
"Liv-" Elliot spoke, trying to get an answer, but it only made her angry.
"I will leave you at the next stop if you don't shut the hell up. Okay?" She spat, and Elliot felt the color drain from his face. He sank back against the booth and swallowed hard.
"Dude, I didn't want to do that, but you still need to mind your own business. I left because I was getting the shit kicked out of me every night. And that scar, it's more recent and it'll lose the redness. Now, want the rest of my coffee?" Olivia asked as the guilt started to set in. Not the guilt of leaving, but the guilt of yelling at Elliot.
They were both getting hurt and if they hadn't left, one night neither of them would be granted the right to see the next morning.
"I'm going back to our seats. Want me to take your bags?" Elliot asked, and Olivia frowned deeply.
"I'll join you."

Elliot stayed awake and looked out the window while Olivia curled up in her seat and slept. This was the first night that she got a good night of sleep, even if it was on a train. Elliot watched as the sun rose, and he saw that they had entered Pittsburgh. It was their first stop on their trip west, and the place where they would pick where to go next.
"Liv." Elliot breathed, as he gently shook her awake.
"What?" She yawned, as she stretched a bit.
"We are in Pittsburgh. We need to get off and pick where we are going next." Elliot spoke, and Olivia nodded. She stood up as the train slowed down. They gathered their items and as soon as the train came to a stop, they got off.
Elliot grabbed Olivia's arm and held it as they walked through the crowd. Olivia ended up shaking his hand from her arm before just grabbing his hand and intertwining their fingers together so they really wouldn't lose each other.
"Where to next?" Elliot asked once they looked at the schedule for the trains.
"We need to keep heading west. So maybe St. Louis?" She questioned, as she looked at Elliot.
"I have about $300 on me. Why don't we crash here? I'm tired." Elliot spoke, and Olivia frowned.
"We need to get as far away from home as possible. We need to get as far away as our money will let us, and I'm hoping to get to California or Colorado or someplace out there." She spoke, and Elliot nodded.
"Well buy our tickets. I'm going to get some coffee." Elliot replied. He was getting a little angry at himself for leaving. His mother had already left his father and now he had too. He walked outside and kept looking over his shoulder as he walked to the pay phone. He dialed his father's number and just waited for him to answer.
"The Stabler residence," Joseph spoke.
"Hey, Dad. It's Elliot." Elliot whispered.
"Where the fuck are you!?" Joseph yelled.
