Chapter 9 - It's Like Magic

??? POV

"I heard he was getting another child." "But I thought most of the humans here were gone." "Apparently not." I see two humans talking.

I can't get a good look at them because my vision is blurry. I haven't had a good vision for two days, since he tied me up. The ropes are so tight, I'm getting major headaches every few hours.

"I can feel master is here." "Quick! Hide the map Julie!" I can hear him now. The beast is getting closer.

Then, I see him. "I have another child." He says. "That doesn't look like a child to me. She looks older than that." "WILL YOU SHUT UP?" "Y-yes, m-master." I see the girl being tied next to me. "We drown them, tomorrow." He says. I am going to die, tomorrow. I couldn't believe it. I would never get to see my father again. I am so worried about him. My life, is ending.

Draco's POV

"I can feel that she's this way." Rainbow says, leading us through the forest. "How do you know that?" Gold asks. "Because I can just feel it." Rainbow answers.

I notice something unusual, something I've never seen before. "Rainbow, your ring is glowing." I say. She looks at her ring, shocked. "How is this possible? How can a ring glow?" "Look, mine is glowing, too!" Funneh exclaims, looking down at her ring. I look at mine, then Gold's. Our rings are both glowing. "Do you think this means something?" I ask. "I dunno." Gold says.

Julie's POV

"Look, Jen." I say to my twin. She looks over to one of the tied girls. "Her ring is glowing, Jul." Jennifer says. "I know. "Do you think we should save these people? Maybe with that girl's ring, she'll help us get off this island." I say. "Be quiet, sister!" Jennifer says, covering my mouth. "Master is in his office." Master's office was just across from the fire that we were sitting by. He could hear us talking.

"J-julie..." I turn quickly over to one of the girls that's tied. "Sister, she said your name." Jen says. "I know, Jen." I get up and walk over to her. I brush my fingers against her cheeks. "I-I can't believe it... LUNAR!" I scream, hugging the girl. I hear master walking towards me. "So, you know this girl?" He asks. I freeze. "Uh, y-yes..." I stammer. He grabs my arms and then the ground gets closer to me.

Funneh's POV

"RUN!!!" A snake slithered after us. We run as fast as our feet could go. I then feel a tug at my foot, dragging me down to the ground. "AHHH!" I scream. My siblings grab onto my hands, struggling to pull me out of the snake's grip. They manage to lift me out of the snake's grasp, the snake still following us as we ran. I pick up an old stick and swing at the snake. After seven hits, it slithers off into the bushes. "Phew." I was relieved that the snake didn't get to us more.

I then feel something heavy fall on my back. "Oh no! Are you ok?" I hear a voice ask. A human must have fallen on me. I feel her getting up and then I see her reach out her hand. I take it. "Are you hurt, dear?" She asks. "No, not at all besides for my eye." I say. "Oh no! What happened to your eye?" She asks. "A stick is stuck in it." I say to her.

"Oh... well my name's Jennifer, but you can call me Jen!" Jennifer smiles. "I'm Funneh, and these are my siblings, and James!" I say, gesturing to them.

She grabs my hand, lifting it up to her face. What the heck was she doing? "You have the same ring as my sister's friend." She says, dropping my hand. "Where is your sister? And what 'friend' are you talking about?" I question Jen. "I ran away from my sister. She was going to be tied and so was I. I had to run away, but I will save her." Jen says.

"And that friend is called Lunar or something." "LUNAR?" "Yes, Lunar." Jen says. "That's our sister!" I exclaim. "Oh. Your sister doesn't exactly have a fortunate future. She is going to be drowned along with a little girl tomorrow." Jen looks down at her feet. I glance over to my siblings, who look extremely upset and worried.

"Jen, where is this place? Where is your sister?" I ask. "Very far away. I have been running for what seems like hours from that horrid place." "Then we have to start going there, immediately." I say. "It looks like you were going in the right direction." Jennifer says, trying to lighten the mood. "Our rings kind of led the way." I say. "That's amazing!" Jen says, starting to walk. "It's like magic."
