Chapter 24 Friendly Jiang Li

After dinner Jiang Li called me, afraid that I might have cold he started forcing me to drink a cup of some concotation.

I gave the amber liquid in the cup a skeptical look and asked him: “What is this for?”

Jiang Li very bluntly spoke: “You have cold, right. I don’t want you to pass it to me so take this medicine.”

OK, so I did not know what to say now…..

At night before going to sleep, I mustered some courage and then I gathered some more courage and finally went to Jiang Li: “Jiang Li if I ask you a question then can you answer it honestly.”

Jiang Li generously nodded his head: “Since you are going to inconvenience me with your query thus in order to not let you feel burdened about the same, I will also ask you a question and you should also answer it honestly.”

I nodded and asked: “Did you deliberately make the dinner inedible?”

Jiang Li very seriously replied: “Yes, truthfully I can cook really delicious food. If you don’t believe it then tomorrow I will cook again and you can test it yourself.”

I was petrified and hurriedly shook my head like a pellet drum. It was really hard to tell whether Jiang Li’s words were fake or not.

Pretending to regret, Jiang Li spoke: “What a pity….” Then, he changed the subject: “Well, now it’s my turn to ask you a question.”

“Go ahead.” I did not have anything to hide, he could ask anything.

Jiang Li squinted his eyes slightly and asked: “Why did you cry today?”

I did not expect that he would ask that, remembering the gloomy incident of the day I exclaimed: “Why does it matter to you?”

“I don’t want to see that kind of resentful expressions on your face every day and if this continues I don’t know for how long I will have to cook dinner…..it’s hard to beat the eggs.”

I pondered for a moment and then said: “Jiang Li, if one day you find out that your ex-lover has also started working in your company, will you resign or not?”

Jiang Li firmly shook his head: “I will resign...”

I tilted my head in disbelief: “You will resign so easily.”

Jiang Li added: “I will resign myself to make him quit.”

Me……..

I will resign myself to make him quit. ….This was Jiang Li’s reply.

I suddenly felt that there was no point in discussing this problem with Jiang Li, the two of us basically did not belong to the same world.
