The Mysterious Island of Lost Treasures

Chapter 8

The next day, I could barely walk, but I really wanted to go outside, so Kyo carried me on his back and we walked around the island for a while.

"Ow, that kind of hurts."

"Sorry, you just got hurt mostly everywhere, so it's kind of hard not to grab a bad place that doesn't hurt. You want to go back and lie down?"

"Yeah, I still feel pretty sore."

"Why did you run out anyway? I mean, did I make you feel uncomfortable or something?"

"No... I just... I was just really confused about how I felt, so I didn't know what to say. I'm sorry."

"It's okay; you should've just told me. Instead, you ran out like an idiot and now look at you; you're a complete mess now."

"Don't remind me, can we go back now? I seriously need to lie down."

"Yeah, no problem, but seriously, you're still pretty heavy."

I whacked his head and screamed, "Shut up you jerk! You're not the one in pain right now!"

He laughed and said, "Yeah, yeah." We both laughed a little on the way back, and I fell asleep under the nice, cozy lion skin Kyo got me while I was sick.

I really wanted to go see the stars because I haven't seen them for a while. But after the incident, Kyo wouldn't allow me to. I said to him, "Please? I really want to go look at the stars. It's been so long. Please?"

"Ugh, fine. But if anything happens to me, you do realize we're both as good as dead."

"Oh come on, you aren't that weak, or are you?"

I had this funny little smirk on my face, which made him yell for once, "Shut up!" Finally! He was the one that got pissed off! We went to my star spot that I always loved, and stared at the stars. Kyo seemed tense because he was afraid something might happen to us.

I really wanted him to relax, but it would probably just make him even tenser. After a while, we went back to the shelter, and I realized while I was trying to sleep, Kyo had been here for about a month now. I would've probably been asleep by now, but with all the cuts and bruises, it made it kind of hard to find a comfortable position.

The next morning, I really wanted to go take a bath in the hot spring after so long. I decided to have Kyo take me over to the spring, and then leave so I could bathe in peace. It felt great to finally be able to take a bath in the magical hot spring after so long. I wanted to stay in there for a long time, but I would have to get out eventually. When I got out, I dried off and got dressed. Once I was fully clothed, I called Kyo to come help me because I could barely walk. What I realized was that I still couldn't walk, but my injuries felt a heck of a lot better. When Kyo finally came, he brought some crutches with him.

"What are these for?"

"To help you get around if you're ever alone, plus you're still kind of heavy."

"Seriously! Even when I'm injured, you still call me fat!"

"I said heavy, not fat. There is a difference between the two. We talked about this the very first time we met."

"Whatever, thanks for the crutches."

We tested the crutches Kyo made on the way back to the shelter. They worked pretty well, so I thought these were really convenient.

While we were relaxing back at the shelter, I wanted to take a nap, but since I couldn't because of the unbearable pain, I had to stay up. Kyo decided to take a nap though. Having to help me out and all probably made him pretty darn tired.

As I looked at him while he was sleeping, he seemed to look sweet and peaceful. He looked also kind of... cute. Plus his lips, they were right there. Right there! Hmmm, should I kiss him? I mean he's asleep so he wouldn't know, and his lips are RIGHT THERE! Maybe I shouldn't, what if he wakes up? But when will I ever get an opportunity like this again? I decided to just do it, so my conscience would shut up.

As I leaned in, I felt nervous. What if he woke up? That would be really awkward. I was almost at his lips, but then his eyes started to open a little bit and he said something. What I think I heard him say was, "Sakura... stay with me." I'm wondering if I heard him right. I mean, he did confess his love to me already... and then I almost died. Nice memories.

While he was sleeping, he looked cold, so I gave him my warm blanket. I decided to try to take a nap, which thankfully I was able to find a good position. When I woke up, I was just staring at the ceiling in boredom. Apparently, Kyo had woken up too. He crawled up silently and scared me... again.

"Oh my freaking god, dude! For once, can you not scare me when I'm thinking or just trying to relax?!"

"Good morning, princess."

"Don't you mean evening?"

"Whatever, so does the princess need her alone time away from her knight?"

I slapped him, which should've probably been expected of me. We had to go to the stream to get him some cold water for his face, just like last time.
