Today was mine and Chloe's day together. Dianne was up and out of the house by around 6pm so I took it upon myself to go and make breakfast for me and Chloe. I'd done this before when it was just me and dianne but not for Chloe. This had to be perfect. If it wasn't perfect then I'd never forgive myself. Chloe had given us the change to be parents but we had given her something way more special. A chance to be a daughter to someone. A chance to be loved by someone. And boy did I love her so much. More than she even imagined.
I speedily made some pancakes for both of us, placing some strawberries around them for decoration before tiptoeing up to Chloe's room and knocking on the door. Chloe was still asleep as I walked into the room. She had been way to tired last night and had gone off to bed slightly earlier than us. But I understood exactly why. She was probably not use to all of the long days and long nights. At the care home they probably just had a very early bed time and they would of course have to Stick to it. I walked in slowly and tapped her gently in order to wake her up. It took her a few moments but finally she woke up and looked up at me. " Morning sleepy head there's breakfast downstairs when you're finally ready to get out of bed" I said with a chuckle as I smiled down at her. She smiled back with tired eyes as she slowly made her way out of her bed " Thanks but you really didn't have to make breakfast." She said with a soft smile as she collected some clothes from her draws. " yes I did Chloe. I'm your dad it's my job to keep you alive. If I didn't make food for you I'm pretty sure you'd starve." I added a small chuckle to the end of my sentence as I attempted to make her laugh which seemed to work as she chuckled along with me before walking into the bathroom to get changed. Once she came back out she was all ready for the day. Of corse we weren't actually going anywhere today so she didn't try and look smart. Although anything she did were look nice on her anyway.
After eating breakfast we sat down on the sofa deciding to turn on a film in the background so we could talk. We skimmed through Netflix for a while before deciding on the film Mowgly as it looked like a great film. Once the movie started I turned it down slightly so that we didn't burst our ear drums with how loud it was. " Thanks for saying we could stay in today dad." She said with a soft tone as she begun to evert her eyes back to the movie. " No problem. Honestly Chloe it's nice just to spend time with you doing nothing. Plus I haven't had a day off in ages and I was actually planning on doing nothing anyway" I said with a sweet chuckle and smiling once I locked my eyes back on the movie. " sounds great and is great" she chuckled before just wanting the film again. She seemed to be really enjoying the movie as she didn't talk much after that. " Can I ask something?" Chloe asked half way through the film. " Of course what's up chlo?" I diverted my eyes away from the film and back to her. " Why did you guys pick me? I mean there were so many other kids to choose from but you chose me. Why?" She asked curiously while still keeping her eyes half on the film and half on me. She seemed genuinely confused as to why Dianne and I would actually choose her but for me it was an easy choice. " Chloe we chose you because the second we laid eyes on you we instantly fell in love. You are such a beautiful girl and such an amazing person. You're brave, funny and smart. Why wouldn't we choose you? You might think that we had so many options but it was the easiest choice that we ever made. We knew from the moment we saw you that you were going to be our daughter. And if I'm being honest I wouldn't have it any other way." I explained with a wide smile on my face as I pulled her in for a tight hug which I defiantly needed today. Everything I had said to her was entirely true. I did love her and I did want her as my daughter. She was and would always be my star for the rest of my life. Chloe smiled facing me for what seemed to be ages and cuddled into me as we continued to watch the film.
End of part 5 Hey guys I'm so sorry that this was a shorter chapter then what I usually do but I've been super busy this week so I haven't really had a chance to do a long chapter. But I didn't want to let you guys down so I decided that a short chapter was better than nothing. OMG OVER 400 READS I AM SO HAPPY.
