I jumped into the murky water ahead of me, charging through the water as fast as my legs could take me. The loud sound of splashing following right behind me, and the loud yells coming from only a few feet away of me and my younger sister Esme.

"Hurry Esme!" I shouted behind me. It was pitch black out, the smell of nature and mildew surrounded us as I reached the other side of the lake.

I pulled up the ends of my soaking wet dress and bunched it in both of my fists. The soft skin on the bottom of my bare feet connected with the prickly grass making me wince in pain.

I turned around seeing how far away my sister actually was from me. I felt my heart quicken in my chest as the feeling of fear spread throughout my body.

I watched as the men grabbed her, her yelling and crying as they yanked her by her brown wet hair. I shouted at them as the tears threatened to run down my flushed face. I won't let them.

I couldn't go after her now, not when there's about fifty strong and armed men nearing my captured sister.

"I love you." I mouthed at her and she closed her eyes in defeat, as they placed chains around her hands.

I turned around on my heels, running into the dark forest. The men who carried torch lights and stakes yelled in my direction and I could hear them begin to charge towards me.

I knew my plan. If I could survive the night in the dark forest, I was going to do everything in my power to get Esme back, no matter the cost.
