"Shadow Stop It!" I giggled.
I ran around the room for a bit before waddling to the door.We were playing tag....yeah tag.
Shadow had made its way to me but before he could "tag" me I ran out the room and to mother.
"Mama, Shadows trying to tag me" I stated pointing to air.
I was stunned. I thought he had followed me. I walked back to the room and cracked the door open. Nobody!
"Shadows...?" I whispered.
Suddenly he appears and I'm it. I had a fit before plopping on the floor and saying
"Ok...you win " in the most annoyed voice ever.
I got up and walked through the door. I'm 8 now. That was when I was 4.
"Mom, is Shadow coming over today..?"I questioned.
She walked into the room and sat on the edge of the bed while she folded my clothes for the day.
"Whatever you want sweetheart..but schools today" she whispered.
School the worst place on earth. I smiled back and grabbed my clothes to go change, then tossed on my backpack and headed to school . Shadow never comes to my school. I mean...can you really blame him? I walk into the halls to be greeted by Heather.
"Hello NERD!" She yells as she pushed me to the floor.
Everyone laughs and walks to class. Its 3rd grade for gods sake! Nobody should have this experience. Once again the day ends the same way, me coming home locking myself in the room and crying. Shadow came this time and we made jokes as wiped my tears. it sounded like he would stay things like I'm always here or something? Though I never really understood what he said I could care less. Man I would never want to leave when he was here. He was the best. What ever happened to him? He always left when someone else was here. But one day when I made a friend. He never came back. I guess studying always took me away from him. I tried to touch my memories but I awake to the alarm. I coughed until my eyes burst open with tears. I smashed the alarm clock as I plopped my head back onto the pillow. I'm May if you wanted to know. May Hutson, I'm 15 and it's my last day before I start school as a freshman in East Academy High. I picked up the bright screen on my desk and scrolled through the schools page. All you could see was people smiling and laughing and looked like they were having an amazing time.
"May Min-"
I quickly shove my phone back onto the table and flip off the lights I jump back into bed as I toss my blanket over my head.I give a loud groan and mumble a few words.
"Go away! School is tomorrow!"
Someone cracked open the door as I felt pressure applied to the end of my bed.I could feel their eyes burning through the blanket before they spoke. I could make out a mouth moving but heard nothing.
Finally I hear them talk to me.
"Your going out today you need to have some fun before school!" She lectured me.
I toss the blanket towards the end of the bed and avoided eye contact.I jump off the bed and walk into the bathroom.
"Gotcha." I stated before shutting the door.
What happens in the bathroom doesn't concern you. I put on a bagged sweatshirt and some pants, decided I could get breakfast at the cafe down the street.
"Bye Mom."I yelled.
I shut the door behind me and walk down the street.Shadow pops out from the side.
"We were supposed to hang out today."He sounded upset.
I waved my arm and walked faster.
"Sorry"I whispered before turning around the corner.
I walk into the old Cafe before identifying the table I would sit at.
"One non-gluten egg sandwich"I stated.
I got my meal and sat down.I didn't know so much people had the same idea this morning. A girl later came and had ordered a salad. She walked towards my table and had stopped when she noticed a seat was empty.
"I'm sorry is this seat taken it's packed." she asked.
"It's Fine."
Yeah I'll admit I was distracted by the thought of everything I could be doing, not to mention staring down at my phone while eating. I was scrolling through everybody's Instagram, I know I'm a loner but can you really blame me? I was so focused on my phone I didn't notice anything until that girl had spoken,
"I'm Sylvia Homes, I was wondering if you wanted to walk around with me after, I'm going to East Academy High this year." She mumbled.
Now I was confused why would she share so much with a weird kid like me. Then again it would keep me away from moms lectures and I could get to know the area a little more besides the school and the cafe, so I decided to agree. I give her a small smile before saying anything.
"I'm May Hutson, I would love too." I pulled out an arm to shake hands.
We shook hands and continued our breakfast, I picked back up my phone and continued scrolling through the endless amount of photos and captions. I stopped when I came across a unsettling caption:
Heather Seymour has been found dead due to choking...- I read on.
My bully for 7 years is finally dead. However I couldn't feel happy about this, who would want to kill everyone's "Beloved Heather". Yeah I'll admit I was shocked at first when I hear about Heathers death, who wouldn't be? I decided that was enough of my phone I decided I should go change before we headed out,
"Hey, I'm gonna go change before we go I'll meet you at the schools entrance" I said walking out they door.
I looked back to see her nodding I ran home and changed before storming back out. On the way I bumped into someone before falling on the floor I looked up to see someone apologizing while offering a hand out to me. I know this sounds cliche but I couldn't help but skip a few heart beats, by the time I came back to reality I was less concerned on if I was ok.He looked like someone...someone who could change the world...
"Are you ok? do you need help or anything, I'm so sorry about that I wasn't looking we're I was going and...ugh! I'm an idiot I'm so sorry..." He went on.
"No......no! I'm fine sorry to worry you"I stuttered.
I looked back one more time before running back off, I finally got back to the school entrance and paused at the sight of Sylvia Glaring at me with a smirk.
"That's Kevin Clark, you dropped dead for him didn't you?" she said.
"Psh...never! I just bumped him."I mumbled.
We joked and laughed as we walked around town pointing to sites man nothing could've been better when we just looked around. I don't remember much besides laughing at some funny sculptures... I think one was like a monkey-lion thing? Eventually we got bored and just sat down on a bench to catch out breath from laughing so hard. I walked off to the restroom at a nearby place. Okay..after that I had gone and saw Sylvia on a call but...when I walked up to her she just hung up the phone. Ignoring that we continued but she was on her phone more with a less friendly expression and was typing to someone.
