"German"

Beca's P.O.V

So here we are, showing up to the Audi dealership we were supposed to sing at. I was feeling kind of nervous being here.

This new acappella group from Germany where the one I love was from. We haven't talked in about three or four years give or take a few months now.

It felt so weird being here spying on the competition. I wouldn't have been here at all, but Chloe was freaking out about Worlds.

So though my anxiety was going through the roof with the thought of being caught, here I was.

Suddenly the cars on display reversed back out of the way. The group from Germany started after the screen up on the stage showed her.

I started to have trouble breathing when they came out on stage and they started to sing. Everything started to become fuzzy around the edges of my vision as I watched Rena sing and dance up there.

I just couldn't get enough oxygen in. I needed my inhaler, but I left it at the Bella House in my bathroom cabinet.

I knew I was having a panic attack. After the show was over Rena thanked the audience in German. She'd seen us in a back corner clapping softly.

I couldn't handle this anxiety panic attack much longer when DSM came over.

"Barden Bellas, you came here to see us? Is it perhaps you are...how do the American kids say...jelly?" Kommissar A.K.A Rena my Engel said in a condescending tone, with a smug smirk and haughty laugh.

"We are so not jelly." Chole snapped back from somewhere beside me. I wouldn't know with how hard my heart was beating in my chest.

"Is that so? You know we should really thank you. None of this would be possible if it weren't for your bumbling ineptitude." With that last remark she had turned her attention to Fat Amy with a smug look.

I saw Amy clench her fist in my peripheral vision, almost like she was going to punch them in the face.

I put my arm in front of her to stop her. Then Rena turned her stare to me. Her eyes showed her surprise for a second with some concern, then they were back to those icy blue.

"We should send them something. Fruit basket. Or would you prefer mini muffins?" She had the smirk still up.

"Yum yum." Pieter said sarcastically and smirked at me.

I put my hands up and stood there. "Okay, we didn't come here to start something. We just wanted to check you guys out before Worlds where we're going to totally kick your ass." I said with maybe a bit of a breathless hitch in my voice.

"You?" She took a step closer where she is almost in my space completely. "You are the kicker of ass?" She asked in a mocking voice that sent shivers through my whole body, and made me feel even more lightheaded.

I turned to look at the other girls with me, then turned back to look at her even though she is so much taller than me.

"Y-yeah." I say softly with a nervous tremor in my voice.

"But you are so tiny. Like an elf. Or was it a fairy or sprite?" Not even snapping her attention away from me and directed her next words at Peiter. "What is it I'm looking for?"

"Troll." His heavy German accent very much standing out more when he talks.

"That's it. You are like a troll." Kommissar was smirking mockingly at me even more now.

So far she has been very annoying to me with her perfect beautiful face.

"You are physically flawless." I blushed because I could never insult her. That and I knew the girls will definitely gang up on me later when we were alone.

"Thank you." She smiled smugly then turned and started to leave.

"But that doesn't mean I like you." I yelled after her. Then everything started to close in after I saw her leaving through a door.

The last thought I had before the black spots came faster to me was that I have missed her so much.

The last thing I heard before passing out in someone's arms was the girls yelling my name and her voice nearby saying something. My heart was still pounding in my chest. Then there was nothing.
