"When was the last time you cried?" Lisa asked, letting out her curiosity while she looks at the brunette beside her and sips her favorite drink.
"It's been a while. I can't remember it anymore,"
Jennie lied. Of course, she remembers it.
So clear that she can even visualize everything from that day. It was the moment she never knew was coming and wished it never did."Really?"
She doesn't want to remember it anymore,
"Yeah,"
And hopes she never will again.
"I know you wont ask me but i'll say it anyway," Lisa let out a cute giggle and Jennie felt something inside her boiling. It's not because of anger or irritation but something beautiful that she can't explain; something that wants to come out but doesn't know how.
Jennie knows eveything Lisa will say somewhat wont make sense—knowing Lisa—but she just found herself listening to her as she blabs about how her cat almost got hit by a car and how she cried after seeing it alive.
Jennie shakes her head but smiles anyway.
She can't help but look at the lady beside her; at how her eyes wrinkles as she laughs and the way her lips curve into a smile as she reminisce the past.
"You probably think I'm too shallow for crying but it kills me just by the mere thought of Leo leaving my side.
"He's my bestfriend. He's always there for me whenever I feel alone. He's my best buddy," she smiles as she say the last part as if she remembers all the time they spent together.
"And i don't know what will happen if he leaves me,"
"But of course, you're still my bestest friend," Lisa said as she looks at Jennie.
She smiled at her and uttered something Jennie didn't expect lisa would say again.
"So please, don't leave me okay?"
Jennie remembers Lisa saying this 10 years ago, she's thirteen while the latter was twelve.
Innocent minds exchanging lifetime promises.
Jennie looked at Lisa intently, battling with herself with what she should say.
But instead of an assurance that Lisa expected, Jennie asks:
"What if i do, will you hate me?"
Lisa looks at her. "Will you?"
"What if?"
Lisa fell silent and Jennie felt she shouldn't have asked that, she knows anyways. Of course Lisa would ha—
"No,"
Jennie felt a lump on her throat, this is the answer she less expected.
"I know if you do, there's a valid reason. You won't leave me just like that," Lisa said with a hint of confidence.
"How did you know?"
"I just do,"
Jennie just wants lisa to hate her. She'll soon leave and she thinks it's more fine if the younger will loath her with the thought of Jennie breaking her promise.
"But i know you'll soon leave, too,"
Jennie looked at Lisa, "And i'm sure i'll be the happiest when that happens,"
Jennie seemed confuse, "Happiest? why would you be happy if i'll leave you?"
"Hmm," Lisa smiled. "Because it's the moment that you'll finally decide to marry,"
