The Alchemist

Two girls ran through the woods laughing. one with bobbed orange hair and the other with long brown wavy hair. The two girls look absolutely different a one thought could be possible. The orange haired one was tall with a pleated skirt and a long sleeve shirt. the other was a bit short with denim shorts and black leggings and a purple tank top. they skidded to a stop in front of a stone house with a short slanted roof. It look abandoned. "C'mon Ruby i don't like it here" said the short girl while looking around at the forest. "don't be such a buzz kill Penelope" Ruby exclaimed pulling out a key and unlocking the door. Penelope sighed and followed Ruby inside and a rickety pair of metal stairs and down to a even bigger basement room which looked more like a tunnel. Ruby pushed open a door and ran up and  hugged a silvery haired boy about their age wearing a black suit "hiya Zander". Zander looked startled then hugged her back. Ruby stared into his eyes for a few minutes before blushing and turning around to Penelope. "This is Zander" Penelope waved at him then looked around. It appeared to be a laboratory while ruby and Zander talked she walked around the room. she picked up a few things then noticed a room off to the left she opened the door and looked around the room it had a shelf with flowers and gems and assortment of bones and fruit. a table with a mortar and pestle and burn marks on it a bed off in the right most corner from her she turns back around. "hey who's room is this" ruby and Zander turned to her and Zander walked over and shut the door. "he doesn't like people messing with things while hes not here" ruby picked up a test tube from a table. "where is Lane anyway?" the door slammed from up stairs and Zander sighed a boy also about 16 walked down the stairs he had a full mane of blonde hair and a gray hoodie with pants and tennis shoes and round glasses he was also a bit chubby. Ruby smiled "hey lane" he was carrying a grocery bag with some purple flowers poking out the top "hey Rubes......wassup Z" he turned to Penelope. "and who's this?". Ruby smiled wider "this is Penelope" Penelope messed with the hem of her tank top. "mind if i call ya pen?" she shook her head. "cool....well....uh....Pen Rubes Z ill be back in a few minutes". he opened his door and walked in and poured the contents of the grocery bag onto the table and started putting them onto the shelf. Penelope watched him from the doorway. he finished then walked back to where they all where. "right so movie night?" ruby nodded then leaded Zander up the stairs and out of the house with Lane and Penelope following them.
