"Banana milk... Banana milk... Banan- Aha!" You muttered to yourself, finding the banana milk on the stand finally.
You took your pen and scratched out the item from your shopping list, looking up to see it was gone.
"No! It was the last packet?!" You thought. Your eyes widened as you looked around, seeing a man standing beside you with the 12 bottle pack in his hands.
He was staring at you, an eyebrow lifted. "Are you... okay? Miss?" He asked. You stuttered a few words out, pointing to the packet.
"I-I..." You managed to begin. The man chuckled softly, grinning at you. "Well, I'm sorry. I got them first." He shrugged before turning around and placing it in his cart.
"Yah!" You exclaimed suddenly. He jumped at your sudden exclamation turning around with wide, surprised eyes.
You cleared your throat before standing straight, staring at him upset. "I saw it first. And I need it urgently." You said.
The man scoffed, turning to you. You watched as he crossed his muscular arms over his chest, the leather jacket he was wearing tightening around his body.
"Yeah, I also need it urgently. And I got it first." He replied. "I'm 100% sure you don't own a business in which you'll need that." You spat back.
"And I'm sure you are not some psychic that can see the future or something." The man spat. "I am leaving. I got the banana milk first." He said.
Before you could argue more to get the milk, he was gone. You gritted your teeth and cursed under your breath, sighing afterward.
"What am I supposed to do now?" You whispered. You pushed your cart to another spot of the supermarket, gathering the rest of the things.
You owned a bar where you usually cooked food and served coffee. You had these special days that you called banana day.
On Banana Day, kids from a nearby school would go on their breaks and have banana milk while you prepared some snacks for them for free.
You loved kids a lot. So much, that you also spend time with a little girl that was 13 years old. She would usually come to your bar and eat there.
You thought she was homeless, maybe. But you also didn't want to ask. It wasn't right to ask such a thing.
You made your way to the cashier, your mood completely was gone as you started putting your things on the counter.
And to your luck, the man from before was in front of you, paying for his things. Your eyes connected for a second but you quickly looked away.
You rolled your eyes and continued placing your things on the counter.
After tucking some hair behind your ear and waiting for everything to be checked, the girl on the cashier turned to you.
"That would be 69,520₩." She said. You paid with a sad smile on your face, gathering your bags and taking the change that she gave you.
You exited the supermarket, placing the bags down and putting the change away into your wallet.
You caught eye of the man again, watching him put his groceries into a Mercedes-Benz jeep. You let out a quiet 'tch', taking your bags.
"Of course, rich idiot." You muttered, starting to walk out of the parking lot. The bags were heavy but you were used to it.
You always walked home since you couldn't afford a car. You did have money since you were saving up for a bigger place to have your bar though.
You walked down the street for a few more minutes before leaning down, resting the bags on the ground.
You heard a car stop a few meters behind you, looking back. You realized you had reached the street where the most famous restaurants were at.
You had stopped right in front of the store that was being sold, the place you wanted to buy for the bar.
You sighed, smiling at it nostalgically. "I'll be here soon. Don't worry." You whispered.
Truth is, the store belonged to your parents. But when they passed away, your sister put it on sale and disappeared, leaving it to someone else to manage it.
You always helped your parents out whenever you could. After school, when you were done studying.
It was your dream to own the store. But your sister, being the jealous and annoying girl she was, she didn't let you have the store.
You were always loved more than her, being the younger one. She felt jealous ever since you were born.
She always tried to make you feel useless but your parents were always there supporting you.
"Okay, time to go ho-" "Noona! Eonnie!" You heard girls and boys shout.
You turned around in surprise to see a group of school kids running to you, instantly recognizing them.
"Omo! I thought you were coming later!" You replied, crouching down and pulling them in a group hug.
"They let us out earlier, noona!" One of the boys said. You chuckled softly, ruffling the boy's hair before looking upon the distance.
You saw the man again, the box of banana milk in his hands as he stood there, watching you with the kids.
"Noona." A boy said, making you look at him. "Hm?" You hummed. "Will we have banana milk today before lunch?" He asked.
The kids cheering happily. You smiled sadly at them, glancing at the man who was now staring at the banana milk in his hands.
"I didn't manage to buy some today. It was sold." You replied, glancing at the kids when they pouted. "But, I can make you some chocolate milkshakes."
They all giggled and jumped happily, gather some of the bags from your grocery shopping. "Let us help you noona!" The boys said in unison.
With a smile, you carefully helped them all towards the bar, glancing over your shoulder to see the man was gone.
