I wake up to my mom yelling at me to get up like every other morning. I roll over to see my curtains open and the bright morning sun shining through into my room. After dozing back off for about 15 minutes I sit up and let out a big yawn along with a stretch.
Soon enough my mom is knocking on my door yelling at me to get moving before I'm late for school. I yank my phone off the charger and walk over to my dresser and pull out a pair of black and white striped leggings, a black lace bra along with underwear, a black skater skirt, and a black shirt that has Slipknot written in thick red faded letters on the front. finally, I grab my black leather jacket off the top of the dresser along with my black and white elbow-length gloves to hide my wrists from my mother. Once I'm changed I brush out my wavey mid-back length black hair. I rush down the hall into the bathroom to brush my teeth but I turn on the water and nothing comes out. confused I walk down the hall to my mother's room to find her sitting on her bed scrolling through the internet. "mom?" I ask to make sure she is listening to me. "whats up sweetie?" she replies looking up from her laptop and pushing her glasses to the top of her head. "we don't have any water." I say confused, " I must have forgotten to pay the water bill" she laughs nervously. "oh?" I say confused, " I will just use some mouth wash then." I continue. "ok sweetie, I'm working late so I won't be here when you get home from school tonight." she says in a worried voice. "oh ok, I'm sure I can manage on my own for a few hours until you get home then." I say trying to ensure her I'm going to be fine on my own so she doesn't worry too much. "ok sweetie, you better get going or you're going to be late for school." she tells me. I glance up at the red Elvis Presley clock on the wall and realize I have20 minutes to get to school. "crap, bye mom love you see you when you get home!" I yell down the hall as I grab my bag and rush out the door.
I grab my skateboard and take a few steps once I get on the road to get my momentum built up then throw down my skateboard and quickly glide down the road in a hurry in an effort not to be late for school. Once I reach the parking lot at school I slide my skateboard under a bush on the outside of the school so no one steals it and then rush inside to my homeroom where I meet up with my best friend Jamie. "OMG girl where were you? I was starting to get worried!" Jamie tells me in a worried expression. "sorry I lost track of time." I laugh nervously. " it's ok you just scared me, I thought something happened to you." Jamie says. "you worry too much about me. I can take care of myself, Jamie." I tell Jamie as the teacher walks into the classroom from talking with teachers in the hallway. "You are like my sister, I'm not going to stop worrying about you," Jamie whispers to me. " I know, but still, "I whisper back. The bell rings for the first period to start. Not long after Vennesa Malavedor walks in. I find my eyes following her as she walks over to her desk and sets her stuff down. She is so memorizing, her long straight silky midnight black hair brushing slightly against her the heels of her black leather knee-high boots as she walks to her desk. its surprising her neck can support that much weight on her neck. Jamie nudges me and I snap out of my little daydream, I turn to him but then look down at my desk trying to hide my blushing face. about a minute goes by and I look back at Jamie expecting him to say something but he is just sitting there with this big grin on his face. "what?" I hiss quietly. "oh nothing." Jamie replies giggling.
I just roll my eyes at him because I knew what he was thinking and it's not true. I am not a lesbian. I am as straight as a straight line! I can't believe he would even think that I was checking out Vennesa! that's like a morel sin to check her out. least for the boys, I don't know how it would be for the girls. then again there are only 2 or 3 girls I know of that are not straight. There is probably a lot more they just don't know it yet. I turn back to the teacher and see she has notes written down on the board, I realize I should probably be writing down so I turn to get my notebook out of my bag and I look down and see my book bag open. my heart drops and Jamie must have noticed my worried expression because he tapped me on the shoulder and I turned around to see him with my notebook and all the notes written down. "thank you" I whisper with a sigh of relief. "no problem, you owe me now though" he whispers back with a giggle. I giggle a little knowing he probably just is going to make me buy him something from the snack bar at lunch. the teacher steps out in the hallway for a little and as soon as she walks out I soon find myself searching the room for Vennesa. I see her over in the corner desk in the back of the room on her phone. She looks so perfect? I don't know if that's the word to describe it but something close to that for sure. The way her hair falls perfectly over her shoulders, shes like...a beautiful dark angel. She is so beautiful. "I knew it!" Jamie says scaring the crap out of me. I snap out of my daydream again and quickly look at Jamie, "what are you talking about?" I ask him trying to deny the fact that I was daydreaming about Vennesa. "you keep checking out Vennesa Malavedor!" Jamie says with excitement as if it was a good thing I was checking out the biggest rebel in school and probably in this town. "N-no I wasn't!" I say getting flustered. "Yes you were!" Jamie says giggling. " I was not!" I say feeling my face get red, I look down at my desk in an attempt to hide my blushing face. "actions speak louder than words Felly" Jamie sings in a little tune. I don't want to admit it but Jamie is right....what is wrong with me! I keep checking out Vennesa Malavedor! NO NO NO NO this can't be happening! NO! I don't believe it...am I? No, it not possible. But what if it is? Ahhhh! it feels like my heart is about to jump out of my chest. my mind is racing. I'm not thinking straight.
