"let's make gods out of these hollow corpses. i'm tired of the weight of mortality, I want to tear it from my veins til I bleed silver and gold, til I can feel something again. let's carve our names in a heart on the ivory pillars of history. maybe one day they'll chant our names. maybe one day they'll paint us into the constellations and name galaxies after us, and we too shall be eternal."

"How much longer will we have to wait for this 'guide'?" Loki asked in impatience.
"She should be here any second," replied Tony ignoring Loki's tone.
Tony decided it was time for an overdue vacation for the team and since Peter had an Ancient Civilization project coming up, why not go there for an educational experience as well.
"She?" asked Loki and Thor at the same time.
Right after they said that your heels could be heard clinking down the granite floors toward the super group.
"Dibs," whispered Thor to Loki.
"We're not twelve Thor, besides you can't call dibs I saw her first," said Loki with a grin.
"Welcome, everyone, to the Egyptian Museum. Here in Cairo we are home to over 120,000 ancient artifacts. My name is Y/N and I will be your guide for todays tour. If anyone has any questions please don't hesitate to ask," you let them know with a smile.
You loved your job more than anything in the world. You had a large reputation of your high qualifications and passion for your line of work. You had worked extremely hard to get to where you were today but you loved every second of it. As a student from California you had interned for a summer in Cairo which eventually landed you a future in the museum.
As the tour continued Thor and Loki were both very impressed at your correct knowledge on the artifacts and ancient language that they assumed most mortals did not know.
"Here you will see the bust of the Pharaoh queen Hatshepsut. Behind her you can see the painted and carved warding's, blessings, and protections taken from the walls of her inner tomb. The woman in the center is the goddess Sekhmet, a strange choice of deity to revere but Hatshepsut reign was nothing out of the ordinary."
As the group went to look at other artifacts in the spacious room you noticed the dark haired Asgardian Prince was still staring at the back wall behind the bust. He had caught your eye throughout the tour, not only was he incredibly handsome, but it appeared that he actually read hieroglyphics. He hadn't talked much but when he did he always managed to say a little quip that made you giggle.
"Tell me Y/N, what is so interesting about this goddess?" asked Loki still staring straight ahead.
"They called her the warrior goddess, she was a rampaging deity and they say fields ran red with mortal blood when she was present. She was the mistress of dread and evil itself would tremble before her. She was often referred to as the Lady of Slaughter and the fiercest of warriors."
"What else?"
"When the more benevolent god, Ra, saw the carnage he was disgusted and ordered for her to stop. But she didn't, Ra and the other gods and goddesses joined together to defeat her power and locked her away into darkness itself for the rest of eternity." you said with a little but of sadness lacing your voice.
"And you don't think they should of done that? Surely if she wasn't stopped the carnage would never of stopped," asked Loki looking at you.
"You know the earth is littered and buried with traces of fallen empires that claimed they would be eternal, but even gods can be broken down and reduced to destruction."
