Prologue

- Hyun Ae!

I turned back to face who called me. My heart was pounding so hard in my chest, I was afraid it'd explode.

- Hyun Ae! she said again.

She got to me and pulled me into a hug, squeezing me like I was going to run away. I don't know how I was looking at the moment, but honestly I didn't think I cared.

- I... I started saying. I passed the audition...

Tears formed in my eyes as my smile went bigger.

- Soo Yun, I... I am officially a trainee!

She hugged me harder.

- Hyun Ae, I am so freaking happy for you! This is so awesome!

We broke the hug and she put her hands on my shoulders, looking deeply in my eyes.

- How many times have I told you how talented you were? See? I was right this whole time, because now my best friend is a freaking trainee at JYP Entertainment!

I saw her crying too, and knowing what was coming after, my heart started shattering to pieces.

- I know this mean we won't be able to see each other for a long time, but I will always support you because I know this is an opportunity you can't miss. I promise, I won't ever be selfish. If you can't find time to text me, it's okay. If we can't hang out anymore, it's okay. If we drift apart, it's okay. It's okay as a long as you promise me something too.

Tears were running down my cheeks. I whipped some away and nodded.

- Promise me that whatever you go trough, you will be strong and won't run away from the responsibilities being a trainee involve, okay? If you aren't feeling you, if you can't take pressure anymore, you can call me. I will always be there for you, you know this right?

I nodded again.

- Good, she said smiling.

My cheeks were wet from crying so hard, my chest was hurting thinking of being separated from my best friend.

- Why... why did you have to make this speech so emotional? I complained hitting her arm.

She chuckled.

- So you won't forget me, idiot.

- Stop saying I am an idiot! I whined.

She whipped my tears.

- Aish... I hope someone will take care of you as I do, because I don't think you can live without being protected and watched by someone.

- Don't worry, I'll be fine.

- Promised?

She took out her hand, and I intertwined our hands.

- Promised, I said smiling.

We hugged again, and even if I felt safe in my best friend's arms, I felt my heart burning in my chest.

What was I going to do without her?
