The Shire was a lovely place to live, all things considered. Luscious fields, lively neighbors, and great people to know - it was wonderful place. You sat outside your Hobbit Hole, sitting on a bench and smoking your pipe as you enjoyed the fresh morning air. Enjoying the flowers swaying with the gentle wind, and the sounds of the awakening Shire, you simply sat back and embraced the moment. Moments like this were your favorite, that's for sure. You sat back and pondered what to do for the day, your soul itching for an adventure this morning.

You must've sat for a good ten minutes, before inspiration struck like a bolt of lightning. A mischievous smile spread across your lips as you jumped up from the bench, skipping down the flat stone steps that led to your home and speeding off down the soft dirt road of Hobbiton.

The sun had risen by now, and the town came alive along with it. Fellow Hobbits bustled down the roads with carts and going off to work in the fields, and you enjoyed as the energy seemed pick up with every step. You briefly walked past your dear friend Frodo's house, seeing him getting the mail. As you trotted by, he seemed to spot you, giving you a gentle wave and smile. You returned the gesture, but continued to walk along your way.

"Where are you going in such a hurry?" He pondered.

"I'm going to ask Pippin if he'd like to go catch some Frogs by the creek!" You smiled, slowing down slightly to talk to him.

Frodo chuckled slightly, wishing you luck before stepping back into his home. You sped along your way again, strolling along the path until you saw the young Hobbit. He was perched on a fence, smoking his pipe and cheerily enjoying the morning. Seeing you walk up, he smiled widely and happily greeted you.

Honestly, you couldn't help but smile back at the sound of his adorable accent - the world seemed brighter when he was around. You had sought him out for a reason, both because he was fun to be around, but also because you've had feelings for him for awhile. You didn't notice it at first, but the fluttering you felt in your chest had become very apparently recently. You felt the need to spend time with him, just to get a sense of his own feelings towards you.

"So, how would you like to go down by the creek and catch Frogs?" You asked, trying to be casual but still feeling awkward.

"Sure!" He replied excitedly, "Do you want to go now?"

"Yeah, if it's not much trouble."

Pippin nodded and smiled, and you two started to walk down to the nearby creek together. You pleasantly chatted along the way, talking about your latest projects and adventures. You happily watched him ramble along about the great prank he and Merry pulled on Farmer Maggot - he looked so happy and his eyes lit up as he talked... it was adorable.

You and Pippin had finally gotten down to the creek, looking around for any cute little amphibians to catch. As you watched, you and Pippin dipped your feet into the water, enjoying the feeling of clear water rushing across your toes. Finally, you heard the softest little "ribbit" from across the stream.

You hiked your skirt / pants higher up your legs as you waded further into the creek, much to the surprise of Pippin, who hurried shortly after you. You felt the smooth and slippery stoned beneath your feet as you used the tall reeds to hide you so the frog couldn't see. Now that you were closer, you could see the creature clearly - a small and fat frog, about the size of your hand was sitting on a shallow rock. You prepared to catch it, though it became abruptly clear that you had forgotten to bring a net or bucket...

'I guess my hands will have to do.' You thought.

Pippin watched admiringly from behind you, noting how you looked like a cat ready to pounce. He'd never thought to say it out loud, but it was quite adorable.

As you got close enough, you swiftly jumped out of the reeds and scooped the frog into your arms. Though, the stones beneath you were so slippery that you ended up falling backwards and landing on your bottom in the gentle creek. Pippin was worried at first, asking you if you were hurt and reaching out to help you up, but he was taken aback when you started laughing. You couldn't care less that you were soaking wet - you caught a frog! Pippin laughed as you held the small amphibian triumphantly, holding it out so he could take a look.

Yet, the small creature managed to wriggle its way out of your grasp, quickly jumping off back into the reeds. You frowned slightly, but lightly chuckled all the same.

"Aw man, we lost it!" You giggled.

But Pippin did not answer. Instead, he just looked at you, admiringly. You were just so perfect... your hair slightly wet, your soaked clothes clinging tightly to your body and showing off every gorgeous curve and arc, and the bright gleam of wonder in your eyes as you sat yourself on a shallow stone in the creek. It felt like a dream to him - he couldn't tell if he wanted to squeal, kiss you, or pass out. So... he just stared.

He stopped and averted his eyes, however, when you looked over at him questioningly.

'Was he... staring at me?' You thought, a bloom of hope forming in your chest. Maybe, just maybe, he liked you back. Your mind quickly dismissed the thought though. Surely it was just because you looked weird, being all soaked.

You blushed slightly, and lightly splashed a bit of water at Pippin playfully. Surprised, he slid off of his own rock and fell into the lake, getting soaking wet in the process. You giggled at him, before getting splashed yourself. You both stayed like this for awhile, splashing one another and just enjoying the moment.

However, you started to feel cold in the shade of the trees, the sun shifting the shadows to fall on you. So, you both helped each other back onto dry land, though you sat on the creek-bed for awhile.

The air was thick with feeling, though you couldn't tell precisely what. It was a light and yet nervous aura, bubbly almost. You'd never felt anything like it. You both smiled as you sat there, listening to the water run by enjoying the feeling of the sun against your drenched skin. You sighed to yourself. Deep down, you knew that if there was ever a moment to confess, it was to be now - and yet, you were just too nervous.

"(Y/N)..." Pippin said softly.

You turned to him, only to be met with a soft pair of lips against your own. Though clearly taken aback by his sudden kiss, even resting a hand on his shoulder to steady yourself, you could feel the emotion behind it. It was a kiss of bubbly passion, filled with relief and affection. When your lips parted, it felt as if the world lost some of its color.

Pippin looked at you, hesitant and blushing fiercely. He turned forward, fiddling his hands together in nervousness.

"I-I'm so sorry, I don't-" He rambled anxiously, preparing to get up and leave.

But, you grabbed his wrist, pulling him back down and against you for a loving hug. The feeling of your sun-bathed bodies against one another was warm and comforting.

"I... I've always wanted that to happen." You admitted shyly.

Pippin's blush deepened at the clearly unexpected confession. However, a face of surprise quickly turned to that of joy, a dopey smiley glowing on his face as he pulled you against him, pressing little kisses to your cheeks, making you giggle in delight.

Soon, you decided to head back to Hobbiton together... hand in hand. Though the other Hobbits stared and scoffed at your soaked appearance, neither one of your could care less - joy flowed through both of you knowing the love was true. Pippin eventually decided to drop you off at your door, but not before pecking a kiss to your lips and scurrying off to tell Merry all about the remarkable day.

You giggled to yourself as you walked inside.
