Chapter 5

It's been a month since I started Sapphire's training. What a great birthday that was, got my wolf and got myself a best friend. Speaking of, Sapphire has grown into a skilled fighter, she rarely complained about it, she has a strong will, probably not as strong as me but it's impressive nonetheless. She has been trained and tested on various things now, now we are going to test her one last time in an uncontrolled situation.

I must say I've gotten plenty of exercise this month, we had to keep moving, Thorn has been around and our paths have nearly crossed a few times. Thankfully he is loud and can't hide his scent, so I sense him quickly and get us moving. When I first caught wind of him it had been almost a week and Sapphire was already so much better, she was unlocking the power in her veins, we evaded him so easily and I doubt he knew, he would have smelled our faint scent until we masked it and left but that would be it. It was amusing.

Now we are in the west section, we got here a few days ago, the soonest Iv'e ever come back to a section and we did some final training, mostly working on her ability to ignore or resist an Alpha's command. Like I said she has a strong will, she can ignore most of the levels of command that I use but my highest forces her to do as she is told. Thankfully I don't think anyone else can reach that level, if I was to use it on another Alpha I'm sure it would force them.

At the moment we are circling each other as we do a warm up spar as has become the norm first thing in the morning. I keep my senses normal, not alert but not focused on her. With her new skill level she could be able to take me down if she actually fought in training like I do, although I have no doubt she could take down Thorn now.

"Aren't you supposed to be giving me an ass beating?" Sapphire calls out as we circle each other, eliciting a low growl from me.

I step closer to her and fake left but she sees my bluff and blocks the blow aimed for her stomach. She slams her fist into the side of my ribs making me stumble backwards with a hiss. She smiles sweetly at me and I snarl a little.

Hopping forward I aim a punch to her chest but at the last moment change direction for an uppercut to the chin. She grunts but with her high tolerance it doesn't faze her as much and she swiftly grabs my arm, pulling me closer before kicking me in the shin. My leg slips out from under me and I growl lightly as I roll away.

Leaping back up, we stalk each other again. Sapphire smirks at me with a cheeky grin, I roll my eyes at her. Such a playful soul.

"Well... I'm waiting"

I shake my head at her and she steps closer to fake a blow to my hip but I notice her leg positions and jump as she goes to drop and slide her foot under my legs. She growls irritably and I can't help but chuckle, she immediately jumps back up and slams me in the eye. I step back out of range for another blow and wrap my hand around her fist, pulling her forward and swinging my elbow to her face.

"Shift" I call out and she doesn't waste any time, neither do I.

I run at her and she tries to snap at me as I leap over her. As I land I turn and snap my jaws into her hind leg, pulling her off her feet and then shaking my head back and forth ripping deep into her muscle, quickly reaching her bone just as she reaches round and grabs my scruff in her mouth. She yanks me over her and I slam into the ground in front of her.

She uses my surprise to her advantage and rams me so I'm on my side, but I recover quickly and kick her away with my hind leg. We begin to stalk each other once more and I wait patiently for her to make a move.

She comes running straight at me and slips her head underneath mine and between my legs before bucking up and sending me to the ground. She swiftly turns and within a moment she has her jaws around my neck and is looking at me with shock and but there's a small smug gleam behind it.
