Chapter One: Intruders

I opened the back door of the dinner and groaned. It was pouring rain and I had walking to work this ,sunny, morning.

I walked back up front to wait the rain out. I lived a mile from here and I was not about to get drenched. I ordered some fries and sat in one of the booths for a little bit. The rain really hadn't let up at all in the last half hour. I couldn't stay here a lot longer. My boss would blame me for loitering or something.

"Uggh ." I pulled up my hood and started walking home. It was dark out so I was trying to hurry. This side of town was sketchy. People always went missing or were murdered. And it's not like my mom told me that when I was little I've experienced things first hand. Not much but enough to say that I believe what I hear on the news.

I heard a door slam and I jumped. I looked around and there was no one their....

"Weeiird...." I stuck my hand in my pocket and gripped my knife.

I heard a voice yell again but this time it was closer. I looked around again but no one was there. I started jogging my house was only a couple blocks away and if someone was following me I didn't want them to know I knew they were there.

When I got to my house I unlocked the door and locked it quickly behind me. I put my purse down on the floor and went to my room to get dressed.

After putting sweat pants and a tank top on I settled down on the couch turning on netflix to watch Sherlock. I watched a couple episodes. More like movies and turned tv off. I walked into the kitchen to get some water when I heard glass shatter.

I turned my head around and reached under my counter clutching the gun I had strapped under it. Ever since three men broke into my house and tried to rob and kill me I always have weapons around me.

I installed it and held it down to my side slowly stepping out from behind my counter. A low growl emitted from the darkness in front of me.

"Oh it's just an animal." I sighed in relief.

"Well....Oh wouldn't say animal...but we're definitely not human." It spat lurching forward. It was a man... but his teeth were... there were so many and they were sharp.

I stumbled backward in surprise and brought my gun up aiming at it.

"Get the hell out of my house!" I yelled which had no effect.

"We just stopped by for a bite to eat..."  He laughed.

"I have nothing for you now get out before I blast your brains all over the wall." I spat.

This made him laugh even more.

"Fine." I said with out hesitation. I cocked the gun and shot him in the heart. He grunted and looked at me with sinister eyes.

"What the hell?" I muttered to my self. I shot again hitting him in the forehead. No affect . The. In the stomach , the legs the arms anywhere I could shoot. Until boom my clip was empty. I stuck the gun in the waist band of my sweats and frantically reach for the largest kitchen knife I had as the thing drew closer and closer go me with agonizing slowness. Once I got the knife I back up to the window and busted it ready to jump out but the hole was to small. I looked forward and the thing picked up its pace realizing I was trying to get away.

"Well there goes that plan..." I narrowed my gazed at him and stabbed him in the throat ripping it out the other side. I started at him in shock as he began to fall forward. I slipped out of the way as he fell to the ground squirting blood all over me on the way. I shudder and looked around. I could have sworn he said we....

More growling sounded from the darkness of my hall way.

"Fuck..." I muttered..... I started hitting the glass with the butt of the gun so I was able to get out. I heard an engine run up the street. Please be the cops or some one with something that can kill these bastards.  No dice.... it was a fucking Impala. I would have complemented how nice it was if there weren't monsters in my house trying to kill me. The monsters were now in the light the were walking quickly down the hall. I hit kept hitting the glass cutting my arms as I tried to crawl through. The Impala continued driving down the road towards my house.
