Feathers, soft feathers shifting to catch the air.
Lights, glowing lights announcing the presence of many down below.
Rock, the hard material beneath feet.
A soft thud resounded as weight pressed against the building roof, gentle footsteps gliding from one end to the other. Feathers shifted and the things withdrew beneath cloth, sounds of machines and humans wafting through the air.
A dark figure rolled his shoulder blades, soft sounds of popping causing said figure to sigh smoothly. Flames diminished into shadow, irises dark as night as they looked down over the mortal creatures, finding no answers to flowing questions in the figure's mind.
There, his eyes glinted as they followed one mortal in particular, the creature above scanning the human down beneath him with a peaking interest and odd connection.
The human kept her gaze down, pulling her hood over her head to cover her face in shadow as she moved, keeping distance between the humans around her. She pressed herself to the quickest she could walk, stained jeans on her legs and shoes on her feet. Shoes, or so he believed the humans called them.
He found this mortal more interesting than when he had first begun his search for the descendant, carefully noting every possible detail of her no matter how unuseful they seem. His sight caught on the red feather stuck to a mortal trinket on her bag, a flutter of similar feathers ruffling behind him. A flame reignited in the figure's eyes, recognition pulling his long search to be proven fruitful as the red flickers followed her every movement in renewed need.
When she disappeared into one building, the figure above released the muscled feathers, catching the night wind as he vanished into the darkness, information flowing through his mind.
One search ended this very night, yet a new search had begun.
Alexus: Heya guys and girls. Yes this is a short teaser, but I took a bit longer to draw the story cover. We figured it would be nice if we gave you something to read while we edited the full prologue, so here you are. Thanks for being patient, it is a lot of work, and we hope you like the teaser.
