Response of aloe vera to floods

INTRODUCTION

   Aloe vera is a succulent plant species of the genus Aloe. It grows wild in the tropical climates. They can survive long period with little or no water but will not grow or may lose leaves.
These plants grow wel in low light condition and can tolerate period of drought. Aloe vera plants do not survive in the extreme climates, such as ice cold alaska, or sun starved areas of the dessert. Aloe vera plants cannot grow in areas without sunlight, without artificial light. They are easy to grow indoors as a potted plant, and when given proper care, these plants can live for many, many years.

   Water is transparent, tasteless, odorless and nearly colorless chemical substance, which is the main constituent of Earth's streams, lakes and oceans and the fluid of most living organisms. It is vital for all known forms of life, even though it provides no calories or organic nutrients.
Water plays an important role in the world economy.Approximately 70% of the freshwater used by humans goes to the agriculture. Fishing in salt and fresh water bodies is a major source of food for many parts of the world

   Aloe vera like most plants need to be watered regularly to survive, though it can survive long periods without water, but what if the aloe vera is watered excessively?
