My dream takes place in feudal Japan. I was standing on a dirt path in the middle of rice paddies surrounded with hills. Farmers were few and far between bent over, shin deep in mirror like water working quietly yet earnestly. I had a teacher who was dressed as a mage, but I could not remember what they looked like. Along side I who was dressed as a witch was my close friend; she was dressed as a Japanese priest in white outer garb with the oversized sleeves and red pants, strapped around back was a bow with arrows, and hair in a low ponytail tied with a white ribbon. My younger brother dressed like a knight with leather armor and metal plates on his chest, back, and joints, along with an unsheathed sword hanging by his waist.
The four of us were on a journey, yet not knowing where to nor why. Along the dirt road we walked, occasionally we encountered new people (not farmers) who would challenge us to a Pokémon battle style duel, except us three; me the witch, my friend the priest, and my brother the knight were in the battling platform where the Pokémon would usually be. All three of us where up on the frontlines at once. Most of the time while battling, my friend would be targeted, as she was an archer with minimal health and defense. Casually walking up to her when it was their turn, they hit her like a child with a tantrum and then turned back.
Anyway we won the battle, our gazes shifted back to reality and we continued to walk. Coming across a long wooden bridge parallel and only a foot tall over the a wide yet gentle river, covered in a grey gloomy mist made it eerie. We walked across it for a long time and at this point we lost the teacher. Me being tired of walking for so long tried to summon my witch broom and ride it casually. Trying to fly atop the broom did not work so I was left in a childish, 'maybe if I tried to ride a broom like a witch I might actually happen' pose ( I know some of you know what I'm talking about and I know some of you have tried this before). Embarrassed I continued to suck it up and continue walking, now using my broom as a walking stick.
Other than that we came across a broken part along the bridge. Looking down it, the water was shiny and reflective almost like mercury, and it was impossible to see though as the bottom was murky. The water was still like a abandoned lake and the misty fog moved only a small distance so we were able to see the metallic murky water while being circled by the mist.
On the other side we could see the continuation of the bridge, the place where our journey continued. Curious to how deep the water was, I summoned a large pair of long and pointy scissors. Crouched down and holding the scissor handles with two hands I slowly dipped it into the reflective water. As I did so, the top of the water ripped from the scissors. Not only that, but there was ripples moving in zig zagged lines underneath the waters. Soon the movement stopped, stillness overtook the mood. Suddenly the scissors in my hands were yanked strand down, disappearing in seconds. Whatever was in the water took my scissors down with it. With that another moment of silence overcame us.
Then out of nowhere a slithering sea monsters shot out of the water, it could be comparable to a five story building. It was a light grey fish blue color, and it's long neck that sprouted from the water was lined with thick snake like scales. The head resembled that of a dragon, wide snout, and thick back facing bones that could flare webbed skin up like a frilled neck lizard (basically a realistic version of gyarados). Its fierce expression eyed us while we slowly started to back away. Lunging towards us, we scrambled to doge and runaway as quickly as we could.
Running out of the mist and off the bridge, we never stopped until we were again on the dirt road surrounded by rice paddies. Giving up on our journey we three decided to walk home as we were at a loss on what to do. Upon coming to our home village, hoping to be kindly greeted, we were meet with stares and looks as if murderers had walked among them.
