Maya's POV.
Here I am, many years after graduation, married to Zig Novak. I never thought I'd see myself being with him again but we rekindled after graduation and we got married shortly after we finished our first year of college. Then a few years later, we had twins when we were 21, we had twins, a girl and a boy. I named the boy James Andrew, my mom said if her and my dad decided if I was a boy, I was going to be named James Andrew Maitlin, so I named him James, we call him Jay or Jamie. Our daughter is named Sophia Annmarie, Zig chose the name , after his mother (we never knew his mothers name so I just made it up) . She is Zig's girl, she's definitely a daddy's girl.
"Mommy?" Sophia asked me one day as Zig and I were sitting at the dining table, eating our breakfast, it was the first day of school for the twins. Zig changed into a whole different man after Jamie and Sophie were born. He wore glasses, which I didn't even know he needed until we had our twins,and he wore shirts with actual sleeves, it was like Zigmund Novak wasn't the same boy I met in freshman year but he definitely was that over protective father who had it out to protect Sophie, much to his dismay, our daughter was starting to show interest in boys.
Our twins were now 12 years old, starting year 7.
"yes sweetheart?" I asked her.
"I'm nervous about going this year, what if nobody likes me? or what if people think I'm a weirdo? or what if people like Jamie more?" she asked, she sounded anxious.
"Baby, everyone is going to love you. okay?" I told her, she still looked anxious. Zig cleared his throat.
"Everyone besides boys, right sweetie?" he asked Sophia. Sophia nodded.
"Right dad" she replied. James ran down the stairs, and he looked a tad bit angry.
"Mom! I can't wear this!" he whined. James looked exactly like Zig, except he had my eyes, and Sophia looked exactly like me, except she had Zig's hair color.
"Jamie, sweetheart, it's not that bad" I replied, "I think you look rather dashing in that outfit" I told him.
"Mom, this is year 7! at Degrassi! yours and pop's school. I want everyone to know I'm the great Novak-Matlin child" he said, "And it can't be known if I go to school and embarrass myself dressed like this"
The alarm went off, it was time to take Sophie and Jamie to school.
