I pick myself up- tonight is the night- I have to tell my parents of this insane new dream. I mean money shouldn't hold me back at all. I have to go shopping though, get a haircut, call my girlfriends. The whole shebang.

Me: What are you doing

Lydia: Packing. College starts in a few weeks. have to be ready 4 it tho.

Me: Mall? Need new clothes.

Lydia: fine. pick me up tho.

I make my way downstairs and wave goodbye to my mom. Not that she seriously cares of my whereabouts.

"Miss Paris great to see you. Which car would you like this afternoon I'll be sure to retrieve it for you," a polite man asks me.

"2019 Mercedes car. All black. Not the charcoal one solid please," I say pulling my phone out of my Prada bag. "Actually I'll get it. Thanks anyways Thomas." I smile as I pass him to find the car in this gigantic garage full of vehicles.

"Call Lydia Lewis." I say to the car as I pull out of the drive to tell her I'm on my way. Minutes pass and I pull into a small suburban neighborhood where my best friend Lydia runs up to the passenger door.

"I'm telling you this is so stressful. I feel so much guilt with my dad paying for Stanford it's not ideal and moms gone so it's just him and I'm his baby and I'm leaving its just-"

I end her stammering, "Lydia! Get yourself together girl. 4.0 GPA is awesome. Once you're a doctor pay your dad back, or something."

"It's not that easy Paris. Some of us have to do things for ourselves. I can't buy anything at the mall its never going to work right now."

"Lydia I already told you I'll pay for your college its not a big deal!"

"No it is a big deal you can't do that."

"Fine. Just if you leave on the side of the road I insist I must help at that point. Also I have news. I'm moving to New York City."

"Excuse me what for? For 3 days while you do some kind of fashion event?"

"No," I giggle, "to start a life."

"Okay well thats awesome, so you need city clothes?"

"Stop I'm serious about this. For once I'm doing something on my own. Lydia come with me! We can get a cute apartment it'll be sweet-"

"No! I have school in a month are you insane?"

"Oh geez I forgot about that already. Do you want on the Saks 5th Avenue side or the Apple Store I need a new laptop to start off my career once I get there."

"I don't have money this doesn't matter to me."

We walk and shop all day long racking up tons of bags all belonging to yours truly.

"Please let me buy you one thing. Please," I ask her.

"One thing, but thats it!"

We walk into the jewelry store where I buy her a diamond necklace that matches the one I purchase.

"I can't accept this, I can't pay you back for this ever!"

"Its a necklace that means sisters. I may have 6, but you're my best friend and sister at heart. Our lives are going different directions. This way we're always connected." Lydia smiles and doesn't continue the argument. By the time I drop her off and return home its 5:15. Dinner starts at 6:30 and since its Sunday night everyone in my family must eat a fancy dinner cooked by the chefs together at one table.

"Where have you been I wanted to go to my boyfriends house and you were supposed to drive me!" Whined Georgia.

"Georgia you know thats not my job. You can hang out another day."

"Not now he's so mad I made him wait up all day on me and I just love him so much and you don't understand our love, and you made me miss our date I hate you!!!"

"Georgia just shut up! You started dating 2 weeks ago you're not in love okay he just want to date a girl with 24 million followers to up his game get over it."

"How can you say that to me!" I shut my door not listening to the rest of her complaints. I shower, dry my hair adding curl and put on my new outfit. A chic green crop top and a short white denim skirt with my newest necklace. I calm myself. 6:26. Better get downstairs before peeving my mom off.

Everyone is sitting around the table already waiting on food.

"Glad you could join us Paris," my father says with an annoyance tone. I decide not to comment. After 4 delectable courses chatter begins and I stand up at the table.

"Family... I believe its important that I say what I need to say."

My mother stares with everyone else, but before I say anything, "Before Paris tells us her news I'd like to say we are so proud of you Giana. Tomorrow with your Vogue cover shoot. Your 3rd cover, and all this super modeling. We love you darling."

"Alright well I'm just going to say it. Tomorrow one of the pilots is taking me and all of my things and I'm permanently moving to New York City." The table bursts in laughter.

"I'm serious. I'm going to go and live on my own for a little while and work for what I want."

"Paris you can't up and leave over night did you decide this morning?" My dad asks. I can't lie, so I just ignore it.

"Well you're 18. We can't stop you," my mother adds.

Dinner ends with that and I return to upstairs where I pack my things.

Knock Knock.

"Come in!" I yell.

Giana enters.

"Hey. I want you to know if you leaving is over mom and dad obsessing over my modeling its just, because its new. They'll be over it soon. Pipers big break will come soon and they'll forget all about me." She smiles and we share a giggle over Pipers acting abilities.

"Look one of my friends lives in the city I'm sure she can help you get on your feet. If you're serious about leaving tomorrow which is ridiculous," she offers.

"Giana I can't live with some super model in the city it'd be the same."

"No she is no model. She's a struggling artist I think, but she has a place there."

"An artist? That's all she does?"

"No she's a first grade teacher. But, she loves art."

"How do you know her?"

"Well truth is we met at a leadership camp in middle school and kept in touch through that."

"So, you don't really know her?"

"I know middle school her and we're friends on Instagram. I'll just ask for a favor we got coffee a few months back."

"I dont know about that. Living with a stranger."

"Thats literally college when you're assigned a dorm mate. Try it. Astrid will love you. I think."

I let Giana set it up, and believe it or not as long as I pay something called rent Astrid doesn't mind if I live with her in her apartment. Tomorrow is going to be a big day.
