The Call

"Hey castle, hows the writing coming on" kate repeated in her head more times than she could count, she held her hand over the phone for a

minute before raising it to her ear taking a deep breath and dialled his number.

The dial tone kept ringing and ringing and then he answered "this is castle" he stated with a happy tone "hey castle, hows the writing coming on" kate smiled getting out the words she struggled with only 5 minutes ago. Castle recognised the voice and smiled instantly, he hadn't seen kate since she came out of the hospital. He wanted to give her some space but he missed her terribly. "Slowly i have a bit of writers block" he sighed and kate could tell it was getting him down. "Why don't you come to the precinct the boys have missed you" she replied worried he would say no, she missed him so much, hearing his confession at her shooting opened her eyes to how she really felt about him.

"yea id love to I've missed being there and it would be nice to get out of the loft for a while, ill he there in 10 minutes" they both said their goodbyes and hung up, kate smiled getting up to get a snack from the break room. "Whats that smile for" Esposito asked as kate walked past his desk "cant i smile without being interrogated" they both laughed and she went to the break room.

Kate walked back to her desk when she saw someone sat in the chair next to her desk and two cups off coffee, she walked slowly to her desk sitting down "thanks for the coffee" she smiled wide looking at him, he reflected the smile back at her "always detective" they sat smiling at each other "how are you" rick asked nervously "I'm getting there thank you" kate smiled and she looked at rick noticing he looked a bit nervous "you ok castle" she asked concerned.

"you wanna grab a bite" he asked nervously "id love to" she smiled standing up "theres a nice little diner round the corner, if you wanna go there" "yea that sounds perfect" rick smiled as they headed to the elevator "its good to have you back" she smiled as they rode elevator "its good to be back"

They walked round the corner to the diner, rick opened the door to the diner letting kate go first, she walked in and found a booth. They sat down opposite each other looking at each other smiling. After a while kate broke the silence "I'm glad you came" kate said shyly "I'm happy you called I've been wanting to call you since the accident, but i didn't want to bother you and josh"he looked at Kate.

"I'm glad i did call, and there's no me and josh, not anymore, i broke up with him after the accident he was being to possessive" rick held his hand over Kate's "I'm sorry to hear that" he looked down and kate got worried "its ok we both wanted different things" she paused and put her hand over his "rick you sure your ok you don't seem yourself you can tell me if somethings wrong" rick lifted his head and looked kate in the eyes "kate theres been something, I've wanted to tell you for a while" she looked back at him "you can tell me castle" rick took a deep breath "kate i love working with you, you are an amazing person and i have to tell you, i love you and i was wondering if you want go out with me"
