Chapter 25: Armour

Willow’s P.O.V

I saw Skylar glance cautiously back at the 20 odd Changewings following us to Berk.

“It’s going to be fine.” I tried to assure him. He gave me a doubtful look; “trust me.” I sighed.

“It’s not you I don’t trust.” I heard him growl quietly.

“I am going to contact Felix and warn him that we are coming, and not to attack us.”

“Good idea,” he said half-heartedly, I didn’t know what had got him so down in the dumps, (A/N Ummm.. it couldn’t possibly be your impending doom in the upcoming battle? Oh or that his brother is the head of that army, hmmm nope not sure why he is so ‘down in the dumps’ Willow.) But I decided not to press the matter and instead concentrated on Felix’s mind, within a few seconds I felt his familiar presence.

‘Felix?’ I asked.

‘Willow! Thank the Gods you’re ok! Where are you, what’s happening?’ He asked bombarding me with question after question.

‘Woah, woah, woah, just hang on a sec and let me explain.’ I said. ‘We are on our way to Berk, but we have some friends with us-‘

‘Like bad friends or friend, friends?’ He interrupted.

‘Good friends, so don’t attack them or anything.’

‘Ok, don’t attack you, wait how do we know if it is you?’

‘We will be coming from the south, the others won’t be.’ I replied exasperated, I wish he would just let me get to the point!

‘Ok… did you find away to defeat them?’

‘Yes… well to cut a long story short we found their weakness, it’s Night Furys!’

‘Night Furys?’

‘Yep, all you have to do is bathe your weapon in Night Fury fire power and it will be able to harm them!’

‘Awesome’ He sighed in relief.

‘So I have to go now,’ I continued, ‘make sure Hiccup starts getting the weapons ready, we will be there soon.’

‘Ok, stay safe.’

‘You do the same.’ I replied before reluctantly pulling my mind away.

“Is it done?” Skylar asked beating his wings steadily along.

“Yes, Berk here we come.” I murmured speeding up.

Two hours later….

Felix’s P.O.V

Shouldn’t they be here by now?” I asked Sapphire as we walked back from the meeting we had asked Noctis to hold so that we could tell the dragons what had to be done. I had also passed Willow’s message onto Hiccup who was even now preparing weapons with the other villagers.

“Stop fretting!” she laughed, “they will be here soon enough.”

A horn blew in the distance, not a battle horn, but one clean sharp toot.

“Sooner than I though.” Sapphire grinned leaping into the air, I followed her eager to see my best friend again.

About 45 minutes before…

Hiccup’s P.O.V

It turns out that (after an unfortunate event with a plasma blast and a villagers Viking helmet) instead of using Night Fury plasma blast to coat our weapons and armour, it was better to have them do one of their electro blasts. It worked the same, as we found from using Glenn as a tester, but didn’t destroy the weapon.. or helmet. I left Gobber in charge of helping the villagers to create their adapted weapons and went back to my section of the workshop. Across my 3 benches lay big sheets, pulling them away I revealed the project I had been working on for some time. Dragon Armour.

It was made of gronkle iron, which made it light enough to cover the dragons wings, protecting them from unforgiving claws.

“Do what you got to do.” I told Toothless gesturing to the armour. He let loose an electro plast as I silently prayed to the gods that it would not be melted on impact, seriously that stuff had taken me months. After finding a stash of gronkle iron rocks I had decided to start a new, larger project, this way the armor would burn the Shapshifters if they touched it. Meatlug’s had been easy, simply wing covers for her, her skin was so thick she was at no risk. Hookfang, Felix and Sapphire had been much harder with their large wingspan, I had figured I would run out of the metal if I used it to cover their whole wings in pure gronkly iron, so I decided to use a combined metal, it was slightly heavier but still protected them.

“Woah no bud, not those.” I said stopping him from electro basting Willow, Skylar and Glenn’s armour, that would have been months of work out the window. “Let’s put yours on shall we?”

I picked up Toothless’s chest plate first and strapped it on, followed by his, stomach plates and the wing covers. Then I removed his normal red prosthetic tail and fitted a new one, it was thicker and resembled an actual tail fin. I had also adjusted his saddle slightly, making it lighter and fitting it so that it didn’t pinch his skin underneath the armor. Finally I put his helmet on, it only protected the top of his head so as not to impair his vision in anyway and still allow him to shoot his lethal blasts.

After taking the armor outside with the help of Toothless and Shadow, I fit the rest of the armor to the dragons. Soon after each of the dragons was strongly armored a horn blasted off in the distance, it seemed my two annoying dragon hybrids had returned from their unexpected journey.

I probably won't be updating as often as I would like due to being really busy with my horse, school, and wattpad.

This is one of the last chapters of the LTDR trilogy:( I honestly don't think that there will b more than 5 chapters now:(:(:(
