The next morning, I was the first to awaken, considering the guys were fighting over whom I would share a blanket with most of the night. My arms are still sore from the tug-of-war battle. I started breakfast, and then Ryoma woke up.

“Good morning, what’s for breakfast?”

“Fish and roots, that okay?”

“Yep, sounds great. At home, I would have to make my own meals when my parents weren’t fighting in the kitchen, which basically means I usually starved.”

“Was it that bad?”

“Yep, when they would fight and I came into the same room, I would feel a lot of pain. I was pretty much their punching dummy when they were fighting.”

“I can see why you ran away.”

While I waited for the food to finish cooking, I was humming the one song I loved.

“Hey, are you singing ‘My song’ by Iwasawa from Girls Dead Monster?”

“Yeah, it’s one of my favorite songs, and really the only one I remember. I guess you know them pretty well.”

“Yeah, so you’re into Girls Dead Monster, right?”

“Yeah, pretty much, you?”

“Yep, they are epic. Have you heard their song Crows Song?”

“Yeah, that was another one of my favorites. How does it go again?”

Ryoma and I continued talking about music. I looked at Kyo after a while and saw that one of his eyes were open.

“Well, good morning, eaves dropper.”

“Good morning princess, still as lively as ever I see.”

Ryoma seemed confused, so I told him he would just figure it out eventually. We had our breakfast, and then set out to go find another giant cat to skin. We ended up running into a really big, black cat. For some reason, I felt like I knew this cat. As it walked towards us, it went into the shade. Suddenly, its eyes turned purple.

I remembered the cats that attacked me that one night when I ran out of the shelter that all of them had different, colorful eyes. This must have been one of their kids. I screamed, “Kyo! Be careful! This is one of the one’s that attacked me that one night!” And how could he forget that one night.

Ryoma seemed to be a bit confused, but just went along with it.

I hid behind the guys because I was terrified of these cats. After what they did to me, who wouldn’t be? Kyo used his sword, and Ryoma carried me to safety. I was glad he didn’t call me heavy, like Kyo always did. He put me down and ran back into battle.

Once the fight ended, Kyo started skinning the beast. I looked at its eyes, and then poked at them. Since Ryoma wasn’t doing anything, he watched what I was doing and then said, “EW, what are you doing?”

“This thing’s eyes are hard, like jewels.”

I pulled the eye I was tapping out of its head, and then discovered a beautiful jewel. Kyo noticed what I was doing, and then said, “Holy shit! That must be worth thousands, maybe millions!!!”

We pulled out the other eye, finished skinning the beast, and went back to the shelter. We now had another blanket, so now we could all sleep in peace, or at least I could. We went back to the shelter and lied down, staring at the beautiful mural Kyo painted. I wanted to get the effect of being outside at night, so I covered the windows and put out the fire.

As I stared at the ceiling, I noticed something. The stars in the painting were spelling something out. It said, ‘Sakura, I love you and I want to see your beautiful smile.’ Then I noticed that some of the stars made heart shapes. I thought that was so sweet of Kyo, and seeing this now made me wish I were alone with him right now. But the best I could do at the moment was grow a huge smile.

About an hour later, I wanted to go for a walk, so we all took a walk around the island. As we walked, the guys were asking questions about me like my favorite color (red), favorite song (My Song by Iwasawa), what my family was like (Usually separated in the house, and would fight, except for the cruise), what was my best friend at home like (Always crazy and fun to be with), and so on. I don’t know why they did all that, but guys can be stupid sometimes. And by sometimes, I mean most of the time.

The guys and I went back to the shelter and had dinner. After dinner, I fell asleep, but the guys wanted to stay up. I woke up during the middle of the night and saw Kyo making something in the corner, and Ryoma doing something in the opposite corner. I didn’t know what was going on, so I decided to just go back to sleep.

In the morning, Ryoma had crashed over in the one corner and Kyo was missing. I was wondering where Kyo went, but I dragged Ryoma back over to his cot and put his blanket over him. I noticed something in his hands. I took a look at what he was holding, and it was a ring. Then he was also holding one of the jewels in his other hand. Maybe he was making it for me. I put the ring and jewel back in his hands. I was surprised he didn’t wake up while I dragged him or when I took out what was in his hands.

I started breakfast and Kyo came back in saying, “Ah, the princess is now making the knights their breakfast, how kind.”

“I’m doing fine, thanks for asking. It’s nice to see you too.”

We both laughed and then I asked, “Where were you this morning anyways?”

“Oh, I just went to the spring.”

I saw something in his pocket and knew instantly that he was lying. Plus, his hair wasn’t wet, and it always was after he came back from the spring. I seriously wanted to pull whatever was in his pocket out right now, but I couldn’t. I felt gross after not taking a bath after a couple of days, so I told Kyo I was going to the spring. I left and took an amazing bath, as of expected of the magical hot spring, and went back.
