Chapter 5

Maya ' s POV

I don't know why I blew up like that I mean I knew she wouldn't understand and it's not her fault but I guess I just snapped Ri is my best friend and I love her no matter what so what if she doesn't understand my situation I hate crying I go to wash my face and when I get back Ri is gone so I grab my purse and sit where we were and I pulled out purple nail polish and started paint my nails I keep everything in my purse Riley says I only paint my nails when I'm upset but whatever

"Maya dad called me are you ok?" Tony said and honestly scared me

"Don't sneak up on me when I'm painting my nails!" I say and wack his arm

"Sorry sorry don't hit me" he says and I laugh

"So are you alright?" he asks and I smile

"I'll be fine I don't even know why I blew up" I said still painting my nails and not meeting his eyes and he sits next to me and grabs the nail polish out of my hand

"Maya it's me I'm not Riley or Eliot know your upset I know your hurting I've been where you are my mother left me too I know what your going threw don't bottle up your emotions though because you will explode" he says and puts his arm on my shoulder and I feel the tears come back up and he pulls me into a hug as they start to fall and before long I was sobbing

"Why would she leave me Tony? Am I that horrible a person?" I say threw sobs

"Breathe Maya we're all here for you we all love you and are here for you your a great person and a great friend to everyone your mother doesn't deserve a daughter as good as you are you are" he said patting my back

"Why does my family hate me first my dad and my mom would come and go untill she just left 3 months ago Why couldn't I have been born into your family" I say between sobs and he  keeps patting my back

"you couldn't be born into our family because then you wouldn't be able to fall in love with El as for your parents they don't deserve you as a daughter have you been on the streets for 3 months?" he asks and I nod threw a sob

"oh Maya why didn't you come to me" he asks

"I was scared Tony I could've been put in a girls home" I said calming down and realized I was clinging to him and let go as the bell rang

"Come on Sissy I think Shaun is picking us up no more tears you don't want El to see you crying" he said making me smile even if we argue and fight a lot he's like a brother to me and calls me sissy on some of the rare occasions where we are getting along then he gets up and lifts me onto his back and takes off running out of the gym with me terrified on his back when we catch up to El he laughs and puts Ri on his shoulder and they race to the parking lot where Shaun is waiting for us
